Heard that today also.

Why not at M/Vale? One ground that seems to miss out on hosting finals.

There must be reasons why the SFL does not program finals at Morphett Vale but obviously those reasons dont matter when the SFL puts on a show case event like the game against the GSFL. I don't understand this decision either Father and Son.

Agree a strange decision .
I would think the reason finals are not played could be controlling the public with easy access from many areas ?
The other reason could be the state of the oval not the best but in saying that last week was one of the best times I have seen but it is early in the year .

Maybe a smaller ground will suit the SFL side? I think its a win win.
Sick of seeing our pants pulled down at South Adelaide due to the space, a tighter inside game may be a chance for us to limit the GSFL outside run.
Hopefully we see a close contest and get to watch a game with some local atmosphere/ banter - rather than going through the motions at Artic park.

I seen no correspondence re this weeks round regarding Anzac Day ? is it Anzac Day round ?

I have seen from the SFL Reconciliation round , Mac round , White ribbon round , Odd socks round , Come and try girls and women's wend , Growing girls and women's participation football , women in sport round .

I thought someone on the wend will play for the Malpas Medal?

It would also be nice to see some recognition on the SFL site for the Anzacs and less of the women !

Pretty simple, Morphett Vale does not have the capacity for finals unfortunately. However, an event like the Association game is perfect. The event has been lost at Hickinbotham with around 100 spectators taking a passing interest. It also gave up any home ground advantage by holding it at a neutral venue.

These types of games should always be held at a club, it gives Morphett Vale the opportunity to host something and should draw a better crowd than what has previously experienced. Have been a strong advocate to holding it at a club venue and this is a good decision.

I am surprised, I was expecting it to be held at Hackham as it seems the SFL trying to give them everything at the moment.

As an advocate for grassroots footy Vics, I would have thought you would recognise the impracticalities of playing on a Tuesday. I think you will find that since 2003 when the Bombers and the Shoes pioneered the SFL Anzac Day Game (on a Friday that year at Glenelg Oval) that the game has never been played on a Tues, Wed or Thurs.

Please speak to our President - Shane Lynch or Football Director - Matthew Davidson, about arranging their transfer. They are looking forward to your phone call.

This is quite amusing, just merge and be done with it!
Wouldn't be at all against it.

Provided we keep our name, colours and play at Mitchell Park 8)

I agree Oneuponedown, the choice of a smaller ground may well have come into the equation.
I believe that there will also be a new jumper worn this year by the senior Association team, but don't know what the new design is, maybe someone on here does.

Surely they don't need Mitchell Parks permission to lodge clearances, they can't lodge one without the players permission though so obviously the players want to go. Aren't you of the opinion that if a player wants to leave then let him. Are you saying if Marion speak to your president or football director they will then be cleared.
Yep and once all subs, fees and gear costs have been covered, happy to clear them.

Which, I am led to believe, has happened and we're looking forward to seeing said players suit up for Marion this year

Doesn't the SFL side train at Morphett Vale? If so, then that can only be another advantage over the neutral venue of last year.
We need every advantage we can take.

Certainly is for us Dutchy, we need to beat finals sides from last year, last week we snuck home against one, and we get an opportunity to do it again this week. The top 6 is going to be tight so wins early in the year are priceless.
