It's only a bad move because he got hurt. So more like bad luck than a bad move. If he stays on I win, If I stayed on paddy I win. At least I'm competitive, unlike the first two weeks. At least Gawn won't be captain this week!

The season opened with a cracking match between Buddy Franklin and Has Been with the Beeners copping a hefty loss despite scoring 2282 points in the match. While Hips Don't Lie and less surprisingly REBCats are off their tucker it was a solid start by most Premier League coaches. The reigning premier pulled off another great win as they saluted over the Captain (I use that one every year) by a mere 21 points to kick start their premiership defence with a W.

The most improved team from last year appear to be the SHARKS. They Gummy Sharks this year but no Spiro's boys appear to be as fearsome as a whitepointer in the backyard pool at a family barbie. The SHARKS are going along swimmingly at the moment. The luckiest winner usually gets a mention and that was mate hambone who had the good fortune to play the REBCats. Picking Gawn as captain will be hard to beat in terms of clusterfox in the Premier League this year.

I didn't start Gawn and went Witts instead but so did Honey Badgers so it came down to other x v y's and the most costly for him was Stewart 22 on field.

Round Two Hogg Premier Preview

Only 5 winners in the tipping last week so not a great success rate but not quite kiss of death levels of ineptitude either. I reckon the match of the round this week is Ecky's Fevolas up against Ben Rolfsburgers and I'm backing Ecky to knock Benny Rolf off the top of the ladder in this match. Hondo and Delicious looks to be a *ahem* Delicious match up and it's hard to go past Hondo who has made a habit of racking up minor round wins and they look very solid once again this season.

The close ones this week look to be Underdogs and Honey Badgers match and Richo Richo up against the Pool Swimmers. I like Underdogs and the premiers in these two matches but they could go either way and I could end up with five again this week. Buddy Franklin was Buddy awesome last week and I can't see him losing to the Captain who are looking at a zip-two start to the year. Teams that I expect to bounce back from round one losses are Hips Don't Lie because Poon Army are ordinary and Has Been who should have enough whips cracking to tame the Longwood Lions.

The SHARKS are a much improved combination they should have the better of Les's Men and unless Taylor Adams gets bitten by Jorden Degoey's dog the Q man should pick up the regulation four points for the Premier League bye. It looks like it's going to be a long season for the REBCats.

REB Sez..

Hondo to defeat Delicious
Eckys Fevs to defeat Benny Rolfs
Underdogs to defeat Honey Badgers
Hips to defeat Poon Army
Richo to defeat Pool Swimmers
Q Man to defeat REBCats
Buddy Franklin to defeat the Captain
SHARKS to defeat Les's Men
Has Been to defeat Longwood Lions

Good luck all teams.

17 Captain Who? 0 2 4201 4279 98.18 0
18 Has Been 0 2 4303 4457 96.54 0

It's a topsy-turvy league this one with seven of last week's losers getting up leaving only two teams up the top of the ladder unbeaten after two. The form guide went out the window in a low scoring round but Pool Swimmers bucked the trend with a solid 2132. Top side Benny Rolfs also scored 2100+ win a round where a score in the 2000s was considered par.

Some of the teams who went belly up in this lowest scoring round included the SHARKS who were previously flying, Richo Richo who suffered their first loss in eight matches going down to the Pool Swimmers. Eckys Fevolas copped a low score and a loss and Q Man suffered his first loss to the REBCats in about five years. Captain Who have got off to a wobbly start and they were one of the few winless sides who didn't get off the canvas to clean up a round one winner.

As mentioned above the Beeners are the stop scoring team of the league yet they are topping up the table. Richo Richo I'll take wins every time, especially as my mob is 18th in scoring but in the eight! Harder to pick than a broken nose this league but my pre-season Grand Final picks are two zip.

I'd like to find out what One club player has done to piss off the SuperCoach gods. One club's team Has Been is the leading scorer in the Premier League so far but a quick look at the ladder reveals that Has Been is the only Premier League side without a win after three rounds. The latest pisstake from the SuperCoach gods is a heartbreaking four point loss to Les' Men which meant a fine score of 2256 wasn't enough for the Beeners to break the duck. On the other side of the coin are my clowns. Once again the REBCats defence held solid as the SHARKS limped to a below par and league low 2017 as the Cats finally got a decent score of their own to bank some percentage. This means the REBCats who are ranked 17th in scoring in the league are now third on the ladder. I'll take it while it lasts!

Meanwhile league guns Benny Rolfs and Buddy Franklin just keep on getting the job done. Benny got the job done against Delicious in a high quality match up to stay on top of the ladder. Buddy Franklin must be the biggest Jekyll and hyde team going around. In 2015 they couldn't take a trick and got relegated but they've hardly dropped a match since and are looking good things for the premiership already.

You needed 2200 at least to get the job done this weekend but Hips Don't Lie did a bit better with a league high of 2314. Captain Who finally secured their first win and it was done in such style that they managed to rise all the way up to ninth after a worrying fortnight to start the season. A couple of teams are off the boil besides the SHARKS. The Underdogs, Richo Richo , Eckys, Pool Swimmers and the Longwood Lions all went under 2200 which looks to be something of a pass mark for the league so far this season...unless you are Has Been then it's ten points more than you scored.
