Kernahan even got the legs to run boundary for a whole game?

No coincidence he picked the smallest oval.

We are live calling the A grade game between PNU and Goodwood from 2pm and I am certainly going to be offering plenty of Boundary umpire Kernahan wittacisms. I'm glad I have a few days warning to come up with some of my finest material.

Well done to the bloke I reckon. Do you reckon Shadiac would have ever done something like that. No chance!!!

He will be supported by legendary boundary umpire Darren Wilson, who retired from the AFL last year after umpiring in a record 404 AFL games including 12 AFL Grand Finals from 1998 to 2009. Field umpires for the game will be Adelaide Footy League Umpiring Manager Colin Rowston and Sunday Mail columnist Ben Hook.

What do the Goodwood and PNU lads think of their D1R game being umpired by celebrity umpires?
Sure, it's only the B-grade, and a boundary umpire doesn't really matter, but what's the go with a Sunday Mail columnist getting the main gig in the middle?
As a former player he'll know the rules and have a feel for the game, but still seems a strange move.

Ben Hook used to umpire SANFL Reserves, was a very good field umpire. Would have done League footy if stuck with it. Also umpired the first ten or so Slowdowns. He will be better than most umpires they usually get. And boundary umpires do not matter at that level. Great move!

Gullies too strong for Princes....12.9 to 7.15. Princes 4 goals to 1 at 1/4 time but all TTG after that.

I thought TTG were meant to tumble out down the ladder and out the 5 losing all those key players. Anyone able to verify why they are so good this year. The early season predictions are a fare way off

Gullies have always had really good depth and an incredibly strong junior program/under 18's outfit.. from seeing them round 1 it looked as if they had a number of blokes ready to step up and replace the ones they lost. Losing high profile players doesnt always lead to having a weaker side, theyve managed to retain a very large portion of their juniors including those that have a crack at a league club and then returned..

From the game i saw, they didnt have as strong a B grade this year as they did the last few, so depth may get tested if injuries hit, but then again they have a very solid Div 7 side that would have blokes to step up if needed aswell.

Fantastic depth to cover blokes as influential as Cockshell, Hand and Sandery all departing in the one off-season.

From sports pulse looks like Persinos has been everything they've hoped for. Would also be very handy having Dylan Schoenmakers permanently available.

It was logical to think that TTG might drop off after losing Cockshell, Hand, Sandery, Cochrane, Golding, McWaters, Flynn, Min, Elphick and Gruber. Despite losing these players they aren't far off the same standard as last year....maybe even better. They picked up Persinos and Huggard and they also have Dylan Schoenmakers, Jon Birkin and Ryan Spittle available for the whole season. Their midfield runs deeper than last year and I believe they are a fitter side.

Particularly once you factor in PAOC doing PNU at Payneham and TTG doing PAOC at Park 9!

TTG 16.13 d PNU 9.6 Game was much closer than scores suggest. Gullies on top early but Payneham midfield led by Donohue got right back in the game, but their efforts told and they were spent come the last quarter.

They seemed pretty even through their playing group last year. Depth has covered the lost players I'm assuming and they've kept some bloody good ones. I'm sort of not surprised as they certainly played some very skillful footy last year, esp. when they fed it out to their fast runners.
