Celebrity Casualties

Postby Jim05 » Wed May 24, 2017 12:02 am

Sir Roger Moore has passed after a brief battle with cancer, aged 89

Grew up loving the Bond films and a couple of his were amongst my favourites.

I think he's attempting re-entry sir!

Sad news about Adam West he only last year did the voice of Batman again in the animated movie Return of the Caped Crusaders and just did the voice in another one that hasn't come out yet.

Yes he voiced Batman in the Batman vs Two-Face animated movie which is yet to be released.

I was first introduced to Adam West when he voiced the Gray Goast, Bruce Wayne's childhood hero in Batman the Animated Series. That was a nice gesture and bridged the gap between the Adam West and Kevin Conroy era's. A recent nod to Adam West's Gray Goast was an Easter Egg, a movie poster titled 'The Goast in Gray' in Batman Arkham Knight.

I also loved him as the Mayor of Quahog in Family Guy.

Hybrid Theory and Meteora have been in my rotation since they came out. They were the first two albums I saved when I got Spotify Premium.

Hybrid Theory was the first CD I bought with my own money as well.

I'm not usually effected by celebrity deaths but this one bummed me out this morning.

Yeah such a bummer, they were first band I really fell in love with.

Was around 10 when Hybrid Theory came out, they were the first band I really listened to as I was getting into music.

Musical taste has changed a lot since then and I haven't really listened to anything since Minutes to Midnight. But those first three albums were pretty massive to me.

So glad I got to see them play. Chesters voice was unreal live.

RIP.

Not a celebrity as such, but music producer Tony Cohen died, aged 60, on August 1.
I kind of feel like he produced the Australian tunes of most of my teenaged years - Nick Cave, TISM, Powderfinger, Cruel Sea, Beasts of Bourbon.
