If you've not won anything since 2004 I'd have STFU.

Just had to he reckons. HAD to. Howard kicked more goals and is better suited to our structure.

Nah balance, morell, balance.

Let's just call a spade a spade.

Ken Hinkley is a heightist.

I really dont know why an AFL club doesnt snap you up, your talents are clearly wasted in Div 7. You could even coach from home with this new thing called the interweb, watching players live and their work off the ball is over rated, all you need is champion data stats.

Finally! I totally agree.

But yeah, the old "AFL coaches know more than you" is a tired trope. Of course they do. But it would be a pretty boring forum if we all just posted

"I full support the coaching group and all their decisions without question. Go team!" ad infinitum and never questioned or discussed their methods.

That's sycophantism and I want no part of that shit.

I agree.

Since 2004 Port have had the following type of season.

1. Utter club shaming embarassment
2. Fluffed a golden opportunity
3. Exhibited promise

Sometimes all 3 in one season.

It's not good enough. I want flags.

No changes for Collingwood, injuries aside.

Collingwood by 5 goals.

Out: Hartlett
In: Pittard

Yep change nothing and nothing changes.
Hartlett should be dropped now.

For Adelaide fans a club is a place where you can go and have a schnitty and a beer, talk to other members of the club and even bump into players who aren't looking down on you from an ivory tower. ;)

Ken said, among other things :

- Youngy just had to come back in after his efforts last week in the SANFL
- Neadey is in for the pressure inside F50 that he felt we've lacked for several weeks, despite still winning it could be better
- Eddy and Howard are close, but balance keeps them out against certain opposition
- Jacko to go back? No, next question.

Chad said, among other things :

- Atley and Drew showing really promising signs as inside mids
- Marshall, Frampton and the two mentioned above are all set for solid careers and the recruiting staff have picked some rippers
- Is very impressed with Irra and Lienert who have shown real improvement since going into the full time system

Cliche' Kenny still talking in circles is he!

morell wrote:Case in point RE Hinkley not respecting structure or key position players... Picking Neade - serial under performer at AFL level, over Howard - exciting young key forward prospect, when we were just smashed in the tall department and the opposition coach freely admitted he purposefully copied a previous coaches tactic of exploiting our lack of height.

You'd think Neade would've been dominant and Howard scratchy. Nah nah, Howard had 4 more disposals, 7 more marks. And of course ... kicked 7 more goals.

But we'll continue to play our most experienced key defender on a forward flank, our most dynamic tall forward on a wing all whilst our actual key defenders barely top 190cm. Not to mention a penetrating kick and skillful player who cant really defend playing on the half back flank and one that cant kick over a jam tin playing there instead!

For **** sake Ken.

Trengove to CHB.
Dixon to a low CHF.
Westhoff to a high flank.
Howard to FF.
Jonas to the back pocket.
Hombsch to the pine and rotate in for when Trengove chops out Ryder.
Hartlett to the forward flank.
DBJ to the back pocket.
Houston to the back flank.
S.Gray to the pine.
Neade to the SANFL.

I really do get the feeling Hinkley is secretly a wannabe dutch Soccer coach and he is trying to implement "total AFL football". It's a novel concept and Holland regularly beat up on lesser sides.

Remind me how many world cups they've won again?

He's a wannabe AFL coach is Ol' Kenny. ;)

You Port people are spoilt and are so used to dominating the SANFL. You thought it would only take a few years for you to replicate your success once you moved up with the big boys and it hasnt panned out that way just yet and probably won't. The comp isn't set up for one team to dominate for too long, your time will come again. It's all about nabbing the flags in the small windows we have now
