The Pulteney of Division 7. Except I can understand why Pulteney are cocky at a logical level. St Pauls? Notsomuch. What exactly have they achieved to be so uppity?

The way some of their leadership, players and strangely, goal umpire, carried on after their immensely impressive regular season win over a depleted and struggling Mitchell Park in Division 7 on Saturday was... odd. Not so subtle amounts of self absorption going on.

Ah well, winners are grinners, still some good fellas out there, but I am strong #TeamDavidGillman

This is bullshit. Took us (Ingle Farm) years to build up to that top 3 spot - and maintain it, and suddenly you lose a game and SPOS get to jump straight in?!

Must say though that middle paragraph doesn't read well - looks lot like sour grapes after a loss :?

p.s. SPOS would have NOTHING on Pulteney

Nah it's not the first time with them for me RE St Paul's.

Had nothing but pleasant experiences with Ingle Farm (other than the losses of course) over the last few years. Nothing like it used to be!

Yeah it might be sour grapes, but having played for Mitchell Park for 10+ years, I have had my fair share of losses, so you do get used to it somewhat. You can win with with grace - which Para Hills and Tea Tree Gully did this year - or you can win with a lack of decorum. St Pauls made their choice. Perhaps a semblance of their relatively inexperienced leadership perhaps. I am sure they will live and learn.

Would you expect anything more from a club who joined the league and take the name and history of a already established club?

The thing they will learn - and we struggled with this and still do somewhat - is your football club doesn't operate in a bubble. How you conduct yourself on and off the field reflects on your football clubs marketability.

If you get a reputation of being a bunch of wangs, perception or otherwise, then it will affect sponsorship. It will affect recruitment. It will affect how you operate.

But whatever, already too much inter web space wasted on this topic.

We played them in there first game ever or trial game ( cant remember which one ) a couple of seasons ago and when their player kicked the first goal of the game and grabbed his jumper and the crest on it and started pulling on it and running around the crowd high fiving everyone like he had just won a grand final in his 250th game, i had the same thoughts as you.

I was out there on Saturday to see the Ol team Mitchell Park for a rare game. SPOS had it all over Mitchell Park for 3 1/2 quarters until Mitchell Park decided to play for 15mins of the last 20mins to get close enough to almost pull off a victory .
At the end of the game there was a bit of carry on and a little heated. As I was walking back a few SPOS supporters tried to get their photographer down to the goal square to maybe get a couple of photo's, in case it went further. It certainly wasn't needed. Not knowing any of current crop of Mitchell Park, the SPOS team seem (in my mind) to target no. 13 a bit more than anyone else.
Mitchell Park certainly didn't deserve to win as they were all over the place with their disposal and decision making. Also the big Full Forward was well held. I must also admit the actual standard of the game wasn't real great as the weather was almost perfect.
But good to see the Ol Club again. All the best to them for the rest of the season.

It's just great to see you back and in good knick, and playing well too. The last 3 players to wear no 13 were sizeable lads so it's probably why you wear it. Given the new age guernseys are all made for under 12's. :D :D :D

Yeah Coz was a bit dirty on me for wearing it! TBH I couldn't care less. I've worn a different number every year I've played. The only time I gave a crap was when I promised Ben I would wear #17 for him when he was playing for PHOS.

and yeah, new guernseys aren't flattering.

I am playing OK, didn't think I would be playing regular As. Just wanted one more. But am utterly over the moon to be playing this week as its going to be a special day - more to come. If you're free come down Yanky.
