This is one I actually go into bat for Victorian clubs.
Yes they play more games in Victoria than having to "travel" but that is a legacy of having over 50% of the clubs based in Victoria. Every interstate side entering the competition knew this.
As for Geelong's home ground, 100% they should get their finals there, not MCG. Just like Bulldogs should have got Etihad, not MCG for the Crows final.

Come on Benny your smart enough to know that advantage is hardly as valuable as having 11 games a season guaranteed where you will have a 90/10 crowd split on a ground you know far better than any other team except one

But if you finish outside the top four and have a few niggly injuries it's perfect. Ask the bulldogs....

With respect to helping niggly injuries. surely that can help all sides not just those outside the top 4?

Disadvantages the teams that win the qualifying finals, two weeks out of three off. If its to remain the finals system needs to be changed.

Game set and match.
The fact it got past this point when discussed at the AFL is a joke.

However, I think the SANFL and SAAFL could use the weekend off to their advantage. I know it's fairly early for grand finals ( in either comp ) but perhaps making the SANFL finals kick off then with a double header, or SAAFL kick off their finals would be a great way to get people back to their roots before the AFL big time.

Ironically the only thing stopping this is the AFL clubs who want their ressies playing deep into September, until they get knocked out of the AFL finals of course...

Bloody hell, the SAAFL are waiting on the Crows and Port?

They should just get on with it.

Its rubbish.
You play the season to finish as high as possible to get the advantage in finals
