Get more people to the games.

Brilliant idea.
You should call the club and ask to speak to the Marketing manager there and share your idea.

I think Ken is safe for at least another year, no need for concern.

Was talking about Buckley but play on, no wait sorry thats and article 4.06 infringement off the ball called by the 18th umpire located in Mania. Free kick paid.

Upon the PAFC entry to the AFL the club forecast the membership and supporter base to be around 20-25 years from reaching it's peak.

Obviously most ( yeah yeah ) traditional PAFC fans had stayed with the club, the next generation of "clean skin" supporters who, not influenced by the Adelaide Football Corporation or their SANFL supporting parents would be ready, with disposable income of their own, to make their own choices in who they choose to support.

With the club on the verge of 60,000 members again this year I'd think that forecast is looking about right.

Serious question, not intending to troll. Are those 60,000 members all individuals, or does it include multiple memberships to one person i.e. if you buy two or more 3 x game memberships for one person, does that add two members to the tally?

Not sure, the AFL does an audit of all clubs membership numbers at seasons end and releases their version of events, as opposed to the clubs.

I look at it this way, all clubs would have rubbish "memberships", pets, 3 game, free junior, country, interstate ( not saying the last two are rubbish ) so I take all the numbers with a grain of salt.

I look at overall, the big clubs, Adelaide, Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn, West Coast are in the high 60,000-70,000's and Port are in the next bracket in the high 50,000-60,000's which seems about right.

What I could find :

Club 2016 Members 2017 Members
Adelaide Crows 54,307 66,000
Brisbane Lions 23,286 19,669
Carlton Blues 50,130 41,076
Collingwood Magpies 74,643 TBA
Essendon Bombers 57,494 58,757
Fremantle Dockers 51,889 46,028
Geelong Cats 50,571 48,044
Gold Coast Suns 12,854 9,694
GWS Giants 15,312 16,293
Hawthorn Hawks 75,351 68,856
Melbourne Demons 39,146 35,437
North Melbourne 35,014 35,508
Port Adelaide 53,743 53,836
Richmond Tigers 72,278 65,310
St Kilda Saints 38,009 36,372
Sydney Swans 56,523 52,225
West Coast Eagles 65,188 61,058

Correct Dutchy.

I wonder how the other states are structured in regards to stadium deals, arrangements with affiliate leagues, licensing costs, game day revenue and other such significant business models.

And following on from that...

Is South Australia with our current model fully competitive?

might be wrong but im pretty sure for it to count as a membership in those figures there has to be at least a match ticket (or 3?)

so pet memberships wouldnt count.

3 game memberships are great for those fans cant make it to a full year of games - but i agree that there needs to be some sort of demarcation between 3 or less and 11 (or more) game memberships

Latest email from the Bombers had us on 66,400 members. That was about 3 days ago. As others have said though it's all just a pissing contest with numbers it's only the $$$ made from memberships that count

My understanding is the two WA clubs especially West Coast have the best deals, followed by a couple of larger Melbourne clubs. SA model is very good compared to the poorer Etihad tenants and clubs from Northern states
