I know but it's just another setback for him.
Plenty of others in front of him now.

Barring an injury crisis you'd have to say his AFL days are over.

I thought it was a couple of years back.

Yeah I was hoping we targeted him being a WA lad. But well done to you guys for getting him to commit. Definitely a very good player you have there.

Ollie will be in the #1 next year, SPP can have it in about 5-6 years from now. [emoji38]

I would agree with you boon. I have always like the look of him. Hes a big bodied midfielder and not a slug for a bit of pace either. Hes a good pick up. You have done well this time.

So maybe we should get back to talking about Lobbe and Hartlett on long term deals. Enough of this positive crap for you guys.

Hopefully Port can lure Drew Petrie over from the west.

2 of the last 3 Hatlett has done enough to keep the wolves at bay. The Hawthorn game and the Collingwood game were both pass marks for him as far as his efforts and performance went, time to back it up with some consistent performances at that level.

Last week Dutchy was having a crack for Port not signing anyone as they'd said they would after the China game.

This week Dutchy is having a crack for Port extending the contract of one of the favorites for the AFL Rising Star in his 1st season.

Oh how I LOL.....Lol....Lol....Lol....

I said guys coming out of contract.....in 2017, I think you would agree guys coming out of contract in 18 months time isn't the priority at Alberton or West Lakes.

To be fair, if SPP continues to develop and improve at the rate he has shown, in 18 months time his value will be significantly higher and he'd be prime for another club to take - why wouldn't you want to lock him away for cheaper and longer now?

If, by chance if, he was going to be wanting out and the end of his second year the asking price would be phenomenal, moot point as he's not going anywhere anyway, but I agree.

Wearing the black-and-white guernsey, Frampton’s aggression and commitment to the jumper has earned him cult status in the minds of regular attendees at Magpies games.

Having overcome injury challenges in the first two years of his career at Alberton, Frampton has been a mainstay in the Magpies this year as he puts pressure on for senior AFL selection.

“It’s amazing the difference continuity of training can make, particularly for a developing big man,” Port’s GM of Football Chris Davies said.

“Billy is a big, strong, aggressive ruckman who loves the contest.

“He hasn’t broken through for a senior game yet but his hunger to learn and improve shows he has a bright future with us.”

Port must be turning over a new leaf when it comes to keeping tall forwards/ruckman. After a long history of getting rid of many talls over the years it's refreshing to actually see them give Frampton a contract extension.

BRAD EBERT and Jack Hombsch have committed to Port Adelaide with respective three and two-year contract extensions.

It will tie Ebert - currently one of the Power's premier midfielders - to Alberton until at least the end of the 2020 season.

That will ensure the iconic Ebert name (Brad's father Craig is a 182-gamer, while uncle Russell is a four-time Magarey Medallist at the club) remains at Port Adelaide during its 150th year.

Ebert recently played his 200th AFL game, having started his career at West Coast before returning home to his family club, having been a Magpies junior before entering the national system in 2007.

Hombsch is poised to play his 100th AFL game next year after overcoming several injury setbacks during his career.

Now cemented at Port until the end of 2019, his ability to play on a variety of opponents as one of the club's defensive lynchpins has grown since arriving for the 2013 season.

Fair bit of pressure on Daniel Venables to produce now.

Yes well we will see about that one. Still unsure why we over looked SPP.

Also there arw another 15 odd teams that had picks before he got drafted.

Who manages this kid?
Why would he sign now?

Why wouldn't he wait until end of next year when his value would potentially be more?

Unless Port paid overs in his next contract?
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
