Factoring in C grade byes, innocuous injuries and anything else that can be thrown at me, I should reach 200 by Round 3 2021.

I hit my life membership at Havens last year. That was with 4 years away in the late 2000's. Would've been a life member by 25 if I'd stuck around.

I became a life member in this season and will play my 200th in round 17, the day after my 26th birthday.

Home match?

No an away game, Smithfield at Smithfield is who we have in round 17.

My body has been telling me to do stupid things lately, like go out and have another kick.

I was actually 28 when I played my last full season, I had tendinitis / burst bursa ( small pocket of fluid that keeps the ligament off the bone ) right up behind my right nut. The ultra sounds were um, interesting.

I'd train ok, but after a full game I'd often have an ice pack up under my manhood in the middle of the night to ease the pain. I gave it away at 28 or 29 and played a handful of games each year for a few years. Then I went back did a short preseason, played the first few in the B's, had a good one, went into the A's and busted my nose about 19 minutes into the 2nd quarter at St Pauls.

Had a rotten night with busted nose and groin, that was the last time I put some boots on.

Yep, there will come a day.

I look at blokes in their 50's playing their 400th or something game, or the old bloke who has umpired 5 or 600, I can't work out how they do or have done it?!?!

Umpiring is a great way to stay in the game, you don't get them body knocks, you keep a bit fit and get paid for it. It's a pain in the arse time as we'd rather be going out on a Saturday afternoon but we make it work.
I've been umpiring for over ten years now, have done as many as 6 games for the weekend, you have your good and bad days, I feel like giving it away soon though.

I would like to play cricket until i am 45, or until I can play a senior game with my lad. 13 years to go

But given i did my calf when i was in bed asleep (got a cramp that was so bad i couldnt get rid of it for an hour and was in agony, and missed the game), i doubt I will make it there

I gave footy away thinking I'd stick at cricket for longer, I did, I gave cricket away about 4 or 5 years after my last full footy season.

Finished up after about the 3rd game of the year. At North Haven and in the field day one I asked the umpire "How many gone, mate?"

"7".

The next week I couldn't wait to get out, I was swinging at everything and everything and when I did eventually get out I felt shithouse, I'd let the team down for my own purposes. That was my last game.

I've since had one full season and a couple of bit seasons of baseball, played a handful of games in the same team as by lad. They will live with me forever. Although I had coached him at footy and cricket and eventually baseball in some either coach or assistant coaching capacity from when he started until he pitched us to a premiership in an U17 baseball grand final.

I was late 20's when I gave footy away. Got sick of getting half the body taped up to get on the field and was only playing for the grog afterwards. When I asked to be named on the bench for a final I knew I was wasting my time. Played a good standard of cricket till about 25, the shoulder was rooted and lost interest. Played 2-3 years of shit cricket in shit comps and gave it away. Made a comeback 5-6 years later for about 6 games in the LOD turf comp and enjoyed it (won the batting trophy as well) but don't miss it at all now.

Gave up tennis last year, mostly because I was getting bored with it, and i only really had time to play either tennis or cricket.

Can easily take that up again when I get older

Gave up cricket and footy when I was 35 and had played many sports since I was born.
Now at 46 I regret playing as much sport as I did as I'm paying for it now. Drs have said all the issues I have is because of playing sports.
If ai had my time again I would have stopped at least 5 years earlier and played less sports as a kid.

I stopped footy at 30, not because by body let me down but I wanted to spend time with my kids.

Unemployed Australian Cricketers posting screen shots of job seeking websites and joking about being out of a job.......how about instructing your union to sort this mess out because you are penalising other players on more modest wages that are more in touch with the real world
