Feral or not, shooting anything in the head with an arrow is inhumane. That's why we have traps.

If it was a person he shot in the head, he would've got time, because it would've been attempted murder.

He was protecting his chooks. If the cat had killed one of the chooks would the cat owner have been threatened with jail time by the RSPCA?
Id rather die from a shot to the head than being mauled to death.
The only people cruel to animals in these sort of cases are the irresponssible morons that let their cats roam wherver they want to, preferably they'd be the animals that were put down.

He's a pretty good shot if he got the cat in the head while it was attacking chooks.

I agree that people shouldn't let cats roam free, but cats are shifty little bastards and sometimes get out. If mine got past me and a neighbour shot him, I don't know what would happen.

I'm pretty sure the cat owner can be fined if their cat kills someones animals. How many chickens died?

Having once had issues with a neighbours' dog using my front yard as a sandbox on a near daily basis, my only reply to the above question would be "pass the rifle".

Although I'd have shot the neighbour before I'd have shot the dog...

No, he'd get a $100 good behaviour bond. At least until the government intervened...

No chickens died as he got to the cat ON HIS PROPERTY before it could attack them like a good pet owner would. The RSPCA should commend him as he is a much better pet owner than the cats owners are.
If you cant ensure your pet stays on your property at all times you shouldnt have a pet, or perhaps go for a goldfish.

Just read the article.

So the cats under his deck and he shoots it four times. Plus, the owner is obviously close enough to be screaming out for someone to help the animal?

Absolute piece of shit. Doesn't surprise me in the least that Wedgie takes his side though.

Ive seen many pictures of lions with people looking harmless too, doesn't mean they're like that all of the time.
A good owner will kill any predator of his or her pets on their own property.
A bad owner will allow their pets on others property.
Its quite simple.

No a good person will assess the situation and do what's best for everybody. A good person wouldn't shoot a cat with a bow and arrow 4 times. Think about it. How long would it take you to set and reset a bow and arrow 4 times. And wouldn't you think the threat the cat poses to your chickens is much less when it has one or two arrows in it?

The chicken story is a load of shit to try to get out of jail time.

He's a sadistic piece of shit.

Im sure if he had a gun it would have onky taken one shot. Id probably take more than 4 shots with a rock.
