for a standard lager? nothing wrong at all

For a decent ale or some description? pouring it into a glass so it has somewhere between half and one inch of head can make a big difference to the flavour of the beer. so if im paying $25-30+ for a six pack i try to make it taste as nice as possible (i usually buy a carton of cheaper stuff and a few six packs or a mix six pack of random stuff i havent tried)

tbh i dont mind either. Cans were seen as "bad" beer for quite a while, but a lot of really good breweries are canning their beers these days as it is cheaper

At the end of the day there is no wrong or right just opinions, I must admit I went through a period in the 90s when I quite enjoyed can beer.
Has anyone tried Pirate Life beers? They're around the corner from me and at one stage (not sure what they do currently) they only did their beers in cans, I still haven't tried them.

Canned beer stays fresher for two main reasons: cans hold a much more reliable seal than bottles, and are impenetrable by light. Bottle caps can be jostled around and loosened during transport or sealed too loosely during processing, gradually losing their freshness (and carbonation). Not the case with cans; those things are sealed for life.

Clear bottles are the worst as they are a marketing ploy only.

I don't rate prancing pony at all.
Seemed run of the mill to me and compared to cost I didn't think it was worth it.
Each to their own though.

Hmmm, that's highly debatable. Must admit though, the Mosaic is one of the best beers going around and their new stout is tip top.

The Prancing Pony IRA is easily their best beer, not a huge fan of the rest of their selection.

Not sure where the whole hop / IPA thing will end. I did follow a Facebook group about craft beer in Adelaide, when some wanker hipster started putting freshly home grown hops into his double IPA I bailed out. Wanker.
