Todays pay rise was $0.40.

Once we got a payrise of $0.01.

All per hour.

Aged care needs more.

I'm getting paid well under what I would in the same role at any other company. The trouble is getting a job at another company.

Also, from the many people I deal with in aged care through work, I've decided I would not leave anyone I love in their care. Incompetence is rife.

We tend to get 2 - 2.5% per year pay rise, depending on the EBA at the time.
This year they want us to move to common law contracts...yeah nah don't think so!

Didn't get any increases in the public service for 4 years but my super pension is indexed so got one July 1, it was small but a nice change. Also got one at Adelaide Oval, glad I'm not a public servant anymore, treated like 3rd class citizens.

$15 per week pay rise, better than a kick in the snatch.

That would of course depend on the snatch.

We get between 1% & 5% each year, depending on our evaluation, I did get an 18% increase one year though, asked for 20% but we settled in between.

My last 3 have come out of nowhere. Just been chatting and the boss goes "Oh, I upped your pay by *k per year, you want a copy of the paperwork?"

Each time it's been after a solid 6 months of return so I can kind of gauge when there's one due. ( Not at the moment )

We've just had our evaluations and are awaiting the outcomes, I don't get my hopes up for any huge increase.

Had the best argument ever with a manager a few years ago regarding an evaluation.

I marked myself a 5 for attendance and punctuation, he marked me a 4, we both have to agree and sign on it before it goes to head office.

Dickbrain "I can't give you a 5, we don't allow it"
Me "I was here every day and was never late"
DB "You're not listening, they don't give 5's"
Me "What the f*** do you want me to do? Come here twice a day?"

With that, I screwed it up, drop punted it out of his door and said "shove your evaluation fair up your arse"

The GM came and seen me the next day with a crinkled up piece of paper telling me I had to sign it if I wanted my 3% rise.

sounds like my work. We have the three criteria
below expectations
meets expectations
exceeds expectations

Told every appraisal that we are not allowed to mark people down as 'exceeds expectations'
also our appraisals don't affect the % pay rise, that's all done on the EBA. BUT they want us to move to individual deals controlled by our appraisals.

I think ours are designed to make us feel shit about ourselves.

Wasn't long ago I'd be walking out on a random day in July with at least $500 worth of gift cards.

It's at the point now where I don't really accept gifts or incentives at work, I've said a few times to them that I don't need to be rewarded for doing my job to the best of my ability, you can show your appreciation in my pay review.

When I worked for a multi-national we used to have to do "360 reviews" where you send an email to 5 colleagues and they give you feedback.

Would of been my dads 63rd birthday today, so it's been a tough day reflecting on what happened to him. I've had a pretty good year this year, winning a cricket premiership was a dream come true, footy is going very, very well, I'm playing the best footy I've ever played and this week will be my 200th game. And buying my first home is huge and I'm loving it. Just wish he was here to see it all.
