G'day all. Going up to the Riverland in October for a long weekend of golf with about a dozen blokes. Has anyone played in the Riverland recently? Looking for advice on the best three course to play while up there.

This may be a silly question but where are (or are there any) nightspots up there? Does the Berri Hotel still go ok?

Thanks in advance for any advice......

Had a stinker at the local Clare Valley golf course

Admittedly was my first hit in about 18 months

Hit all 7/7 fairways (not including the 2 par 3's) in the back nine (we started on hole 10) so something to work with

Will get a round in at the Blyth course tomorrow

Resumed from a 2 week break due to work/man flu.

Played at Thaxted.

All courses except for Renmark are probably on par. Wouldn't waste your time playing there. I'm a bit biased but Berri is great at the moment. If you're staying in Berri, you are central to Loxton and Barmera. if you haven't booked accommodation yet, you'd better do it soon. They have a big show on in Renmark on the long weekend. Distillery Days. Two day music festival at twenty third Street Distillery with (Darryl Braithwaite, Kate Ceberano, Russell Morris, Thundamentals etc so they are expecting a few thousand each day for that I reckon so accommodation will be booking out very quickly. Berri Hotel doesn't have a nightclub or anything so nothing will be going on there. If you're keen for some night life as well, Renmark will be the place to stay as the joint will be rocking each night, especially after each day of the festival after everyone being on the piss all day. Renmark Pub and Renmark Club will be rocking I'd say.

I have always found Callaways are just as good as any other ball at going into the water, over the OB fence, smashing into trees, and getting lost in the rough as anything else on the market.

I used these for about 6 weeks and found them to be very 'soft' I didn't like the feel of them but I'm sure others would have no issue with them.
Out of interest what did she pay for them? From memory I think they were in the top end price bracket.

I guess when you play off 14 you know what your game needs and the balls that suit it best...
