The Port Noarlunga Football Club wishes to sincerely thank our Senior Coach, Nick Manhood and Reserves Coach, Liam Harris for their outstanding contributions to our club over recent years. Both coaches have decided their time in charge has come to an end and therefore we would like to let the general footy public know that we will be formally advertising both positions at the end of the season. For interested parties, feel free to lodge an early expression of interest with our Club Secretary Hugh Tedmanson 0467 786 153. pnfcsports@gmail.com

Interesting comments on here from the Happy Valley posters regarding JC, particularly given the on-field results of both the Vikings and JC's Cobras this year.
Having seen Cove firsthand on the weekend, and noting their improvement from previous years, it would be fair to suggest that JC can coach. Both the A and B grade were very well drilled, so he must be doing something right.......

Some very hand in's (most of whom were Cove Juniors)have been the change in 2017, along with good back up coach/s.

Side could probably coach themselves.

Still not going to stop him having to look for a job next year..

Can only go on what I've seen and fair to say Cove have had Flaggies measure for 6 of the 8 quarters they have played this year, they certainly have some excellent structures in place. Be interesting if they can replicate these on the big finals grounds,

Which ever coach continues to select M. Paine in their A Grade side should hand in their resignation. Half the Cove B Grade Team would have been better suited to play in the A's on the weekend. :?

I don't think any HV people are having a crack about his coaching ability, more so his on and off field behavior and attitude. From what I've heard from HV people, he is a great teacher of the game but a real hothead and let's himself down there. Maybe they didn't like the way he coached them individually, but unfortunately coaches are judged on their appearances off the field as much as they judged on results.

Not sure how overhauling woman's football will strengthen the league. Hard decisions needed to be made several years ago and were not.. Now desperation stakes kick in.

Round 17:

(4) Cove vs (6) Porties @ Cove - should be a close one
(8) Valley vs (1) Shoes @ Valley - unlikely to be a close one
(11) Marion vs (5) Christies @ Marion - cricket score in Marions last SFL game
(3) Emus vs (2) Flaggies @ Morphett Vale - should be a close one, few key outs for both sides? & fighting for the double chance
(7) Wineflies vs (10) Lonsdale @ Reynella - potentially a close one

(9) Sharks vs BYE @ Aldinga Hotel

Heads to roll after Happy Valley not making finals in the A and B grade this year?
Issues with juniors after some poor communication
Many unhappy people looking for change - agree club needs to look at current management but that would involve people being prepared to put their hand up to help

Odds on the number of sides in the SFL in 2018

12 - 100/1
11 - -20/1
10 - 3/1
9 - 2/1
8 - 10/1
7 - 30/1
0 (Fold) - 250/1
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Coaches are reviewed at the end of the season every year but no decisions are made until then.

Sounds like they do it differently at Flaggies though and they already have the new coach lined up for next year. Impressive get by them as I have heard good things but strange to upset the apple cart at this stage of the season. Can't imagine the current coach would be happy about it.
