A late goal by Norwood meant the margin didn't truly reflect the game.

Tom Gray kicked 5.3 and a lazy seven goal assists.

140 points wasn't an indication?

Think he means it could have been 180

It was a very impressive goal by all accounts, though. Slotted it from the back pocket, worth at least 3 AFL preseason 'supergoals.'

Great result and memorable day on many counts.

Thanks to all who played a part in making it happen.

Well played, Phil. Nearly 5000 to a H&A SANFL match is unheard of in the modern day.

Shows the SANFL that with good promotion of the game people will still come through the gates.

Norwood really smashed in all 3 grades.
Reserves result was embarrassing for the club.

Hopefully Baynelg does the job against the Bluddentars next week and keeps the Chooks off the bottom.

I thought the Rooster contingent was noticeably low yesterday. North usually has a large turnout at the Bay, the supporter balance on Snout's Hill is often 50:50 and the red and white on the outer side is prominent. Not so yesterday.

I wouldn't relinquish your grip on the spoon just yet. I don't know who is going to be the winner at Richmond next week, but it sure won't be football.

Our club has a firm grip on a number of things (nudge nudge wink wink), including the spoon which still has the finger marks from when we almost strangled it to death in 2015.

Got a bit of work to do .. We were coming from a fair way back in the league after two ordinary years so have progressed in the right direction, just not as far as we'd like.

That Port team yesterday had some fair talent running around, don't think too many teams would've avoided a touch up yesterday. That doesn't excuse several soft efforts on our behalf though, something the Dogs really exposed us on the week before.

Where do port adelaide's reserves reserves come from?? Surely if they are coming from the Eagles zone this would have a high impact on Eagles recruiting from their OWN zone. Has the Eagles been given any compensation for having to battle this anomaly. Was always going to be a battle for the Eagles after being allocated magpies old zone. How can they convert the unconvertable. Not unhappy with juniors from the zone but is there a 100% commitment from all. How are Norwood going with the Eyre Peninsula?

Most of the PAFC C grade are players from their last intake of juniors, the rest are either father/son recruiting or the Aboriginal academy which I hear want to take over the land that the bowling club now sits on....

Correct, most were in development squads / U18's prior to removal of our zones or are father-son.

The federal government has put significant money into the Indigenous Academy so while the Port Adelaide Enfield Council owns the land I think the weight will be too much to bear. Also the bowling club has struggled more and more over the last few summers and the ageing group there will fight, but I think they'll struggle to hold back the wind of change.

Nudge over 8,000 for two games in the north/western suburbs. Good going.

Booney here's a question not looking for an argument
Father son rule does that still apply to Port Adelaide
Seeing some of your so called father sons are now Eagles playing in Eagles colours and live in the zone which is Eagles
Once was Port seeing under the AFL laws Port can't have zones and Adelaide can't either

I see North had a very ordinary 96 effective kicks for the game on Saturday. less than 100 effective kicks normally guarantees you a loss.

Lucky for North we only had 83 effective kicks, in other words we were more sh!t than them

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Admire the work Phil Herden does, and the number of people there was a credit to him.

But really, by the time the Seniors started the crowd would have been under 2000 as per usual, so not sure too many of the kids/parents from the Lightning Carnival actually stuck around.

Was the 7th largest crowd at Woodville Oval since 1991 when Eagles were formed.
