How the fk did Joel Selwood make it. Had a very average year compared to a lot of others.

Yeo's second half of the year was also average

Because he's the number one leader in the AFL and the best leader always gets a gig.

His best was elite whereas several others had more consistent seasons. I feel Selwood was judged on his 'good' games rather than his season.

I think Sauce struggles to get recognition because his style of rucking is fundamentally to nullify. He's great at it but his strengths in the ruck are subtle. You'll never see him to a Ryder to Gray type tap or gather 30 disposals like Cox or provide physical pressure like Mumford.

But the flip side to that is - either will his opponent ;)

Combine that with a shall we say less than athletic gait and people assume his output and impact on the game is far less than it actually is.

We all know he's not, but by saying Selwood gets a gig just because he's the best leader is rubbish. He might miss 12 weeks, still be the best leader, does he get picked? His inclusion this year ahead of JP Kennedy is truly baffling.

Even JPK had a slightly down year compared to last year imo.
