It cheats!

The fact that no one rates the E J Whitten game (while it's a great cause) as a game of footy... it's only just... entertainment.

Yes. Watching fat former players recreate their glory days is interesting for about a minute. And it's played at a snail's pace. If you want to see Wayne Schwass or Dermie play footy, go to YouTube.

Last night we were our friends (the houseboat people) place. We're all sitting there chilling out, watching TV, the girls on their phones, the boys on their tablets.

The guy sees me playing the Pokemon Online Trading Card game on my tab, gets up and goes to his office. He comes back with two packs of cards and hands them to me. He'd collected so many cards over the last few years. It equates to about 150 real packs (about $975 worth)

Every card in the boxes had a code on them, which you redeem for a virtual pack of Pokemon cards in the game. Usually I just steal them from HH3 Jnr when I buy him Pokemon cards, because he doesn't play the online game.

I sat there for 45 minutes entering codes and opening packs. I got about 70 packs (700 cards) out of the first pack. I had to take the other pack home to do later.

THEN, he goes down to his office again, and comes back asking if I play Fantasy Football. He pulls out the NFL Fantasy Football guide and hands it to me. The SAFooty comp has already had our draft, but the Spartans league draft is tonight.

It was better than Xmas.

And now this morning I got this in the mail from a fellow Adelaidian who is on a US baseball card facebook page.

The deal is, he'll send me all Astros stuff for free if I send him all the A's stuff I get.

He somehow got a football card, which he has no interest in, so forwarded it on to me.

Postage on individual cards is a killer. Postage is a killer all the time actually. I have found some blaster boxes on Amazon that ship here for $6 that I'll be getting soon.

I found out recently that the only packs I can get locally are "retail" packs and there's a lot less change of getting good cards from those, as opposed to the blaster boxes.

Im on one that has about 31k people on it. I would rather pull the card in a pack, than cherry pick though. I did meet a guy from Adelaide through it, as mentioned earlier.

He's been running me through options of getting better deals on cards.

My wife and my mum surprised me with an early birthday present with tickets and flights to Saturdays game at the scg. Never been to the SCG before or seen the swans live in a final. Can't wait
