Yep same, I have a 13 yr old daughter who'd never kicked a footy in her life and all of a sudden she's playing U14's out of the blue.

I didnt see the game but i have watched most of the womens games and I thought the standard improved andErin Phillips was a cut above anyone else. The problem with the game is they recruited women who hadnt played a competitive game of footy. they recruited women who have been outstanding in another sport which made the standard drop. They should have actually recruited girls that had played footy since they were young.

On another note yeah she got 37 touches in the SOO but honestly what is the hype wioth Daisy Pearce. her skills in the games that ive watched are terrible but everyone keeps talking her up. I couldnt believe she was made captain of the all aust team when Erin Phillips won the medal, BOG in the Granny, won a premiership and is Adelaides Captain. Even Chelsea Randall shouldv been captain.

have you seen the size of Daisy Pearse's forehead its a beauty lol

North Melbourne and Geelong joining the AFL Women's comp in 2019.

Gold coast, West Coast, Richmond and St Kilda will join in 2020.

How can you add a club like Gold Coast when their mens team is such a shambles - not even any guarantee they'll be around in 2020 FFS!

interesting that the AFL were intially talking about slow expansion. they seem to have thrown that out the window. It was probably way more successful than they were thinking.

will be interesting to see how it goes in second and subsequent seasons

Credits to Titus:

"AFLW team to be started on the Gold Coast in 2020. Glad the AFL is keen to throw away money for the women too. Equality."

Yes, they will be spreading an already thin player base and the effect on the quality of the product will be interesting. I would have thought you need to wait until MW's 13yo is ready to play before adding more teams.

How are they going to fill the new teams, do we start again and have a draft to provide a level playing field?
