I asked the question whether his comments were designed to push ken out.

And I saw the video of his comments and formed my opinion from that. He was definitely criticising ken too - selection policies has nothing to do with the players
Jesus, Occam's Razor man.

If saying "We picked some young players, maybe that was right or not we're unsure, we have to work that out" is critical of Ken's selection policy and hes spat it because of that than he is the biggest man baby in the industry and he doesn't have the mental fortitude and or maturity to cope with the ruthlessness of getting to an AFL flag.

It would be much simpler than that - simply a value proposition negotiation, I suspect.

I agree.

I don't think Port lose out on this either way. Hinkley stays it's a win. Hinkley walks and they get in (potentially) a ready to go new coach like Dew.

Spot on Bedgey!

Which is why its not exactly a grand canyon size leap of logic to see what's going on. Port would be weighing up what Ken is worth to the football club and seeing if its what they can offer. If not and there's a discrepancy, people leave. Often more than amicably.

But nah, its totes defs a huge falling out between Ken and Koch and they secretly hate each other and/or its some sort of Machiavellian plot from Koch to oust Hinkley without paying his contract out.

Too much pointing in the right direction on field to make a change to a rookie right now, IMO.

What they do lose is confidence in the club, as it's clear they aren't as united as we thought they were

New ideas might be a good thing though.

They were cellar dwellers with Primus, the next year with Hinkley they finish 7th.

You're joking right? It's a profession and a career - Hinkley & co. need to make good business decisions for their careers.

If Hinkley chooses to go for financial gain and stability, because he feels that's best for him and his career, not sure how that reflects on the club and gives the impression of not having a united front.

Love this clip, pertinent too:

Blaming Koch is narrow minded.

Let's face it, GC were always on the look out for a new coach, Hinkley would've been on their radar before finals even started.. they were always going to target him, and he (rightfully so) was always going to explore his options.

Koch opened his mouth, now this has come up and everyone has gone wild.

If Koch hadn't made comments after the EF loss, how would people be viewing the discussion? I'm sure there wouldn't be claims of a rift internally.
