As stupid as this sounds I love the decision I think it's good for footy. Loyalty is very rare, yes obviously 1.3 is huge but the fact he stays I rate.

Makes you wonder how much Mark Williams and Trent Cotchin efforts to keep him on the straight and narrow have influenced the decision.

I know, I know, I hear the guffaws from here, but I think they're a chance. Hear me out.
Last season, the Western Bulldogs had a very tight, affirming victory over Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
At the time, I said that they were now serious premiership contenders (not that I expected them to win).
To win the premiership, I believe you have to scalp either Adelaide or Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
When either of those sides are 12th or above on the premiership ladder, winning at Adelaide Oval is a very big challenge - the fortress-like mentality teams need to adapt is the kind you need to forge and develop as you head towards the grand final at the MCG.
On Saturday night, Richmond defeated a Port Adelaide side that is far from rubbish and this year is one of the strangest competitions in memory, anyone can win it (remember where the Bulldogs came from last season). On those grounds, the Tigers are capable of giving the flag a very good shake.
I'm not saying this is a definitive indicator, but I reckon it's a pretty good one.
If nothing else, Richmond supporters can go towards the finals this season knowing their side can go very deep.

Does anyone have a ticket I can buy by any chance? Last chance this is. My ticket in the ballot didn't get lucky. I'm devastated!

Watched that "Richmond:The Lost Years" doco on Fox again tonight, and it's easy to forget sometimes the enormity of their mistakes over the last 4 decades. Almost akin to the Hawks of the last 10 years becoming a laughing stock for the next 30, an absolute impossibility to even imagine! Win or lose on Saturday - they are the sleeping Giants of the competition - and IF they've finally stopped shooting themselves in the foot off the field, could see them back in a territory battle again.

Great to see a club show loyalty to a coach and rewarded

Geelong saw the rewards with Thompson and now Richmond with Hardwick

I reckon coaches are cut to early far to often, if you hire them and believe they are the man for the job at least give them a few years to create their list/club

Reckon this is why Collingwood have stuck with Buckley.

Anyone know how you can see the uncensored photo? Asking for a friend.
