Well at least one Cornes has made a post match comment to the media.

The snippet on the SANFL grand final is good for a chuckle.

As for his brother not fronting the media, little surprise given the Cornes’ are prone to the odd bout of petulance.

Also the free kick to Beard late in the game had to be paid. Austin has been known to have a bit to say to the mild mannered folk who congregate at the Noarlunga race, so I wasn’t unhappy seeing it paid. ;)

I have a fair bit of time for Graham through some personal dealings but as for Chad and Kane, someone said something about petulance? Spot on there  Massive dose of it.

So the coach of the losing side refuses to front the media and then his brother has a spit about free kicks in the local rag?

I don't recall ever having read a word that either of the Cornes children have had to say, and given that I never really had an opinion about them before, this is about the first time I've had reason to form one.

You read the print media, first mistake right there.

You read what Kane Cornes writes....... that's your second and by far your biggest mistake. ;)

I can tolerate Chad but Kane has surpassed Graham as the biggest f*ckstick in that family.

Kane is now next level f*ckstick IMO

A few points:
1) I notice that the Grand Finals Port participated in drew the highest crowds. This is a fair enough point to make, Port historically are the biggest drawing club in the SANFL. I imagine this situation should continue given that their supporter base will be potentially better preserved under the Power name, with a franchise in the AFL, whereas the remaining clubs do not have a representative entity in the AFL, and fewer and fewer young people will fomr an allegiance to a club in a secondary league.

2) Perhaps highlighting the years where the grand final was played between Central and the Eagles (6 years in total between 2000 and 2011) would also explain a crowd trend.

3) Norwood v North at Footy Park drew about only 2,000 less than Norwood v Port at Adelaide Oval, one year later. Certainly interesting; one half of the equation stayed the same, yet swapping North for Port and playing the game at the brand spanking new Adelaide Oval, right in the center of town, could only prompt less than 2,000 extras to turn up? I would guess that had Norwood, North, Glenelg or Sturt been involved in Grand Finals with one another since 1991,similar high crowds would have resulted.

It is an interesting point. Is there still ambition among any SANFL club to one day be a part of the AFL? Perhaps this is the best way to preserve its future?

This I have been weighing up for a long time...
It would all come down to how much people love their SANFL club, compared to the club they currently follow in the AFL.
I have considered a poll on this site along those lines, but I am not sure it would achieve much. My guess is that such a question would be ridiculed.
On the other hand, the AFL persists with crap like the Suns and GWS. If a third SANFL side was offered the same insurance those two get...

Know this is a bit late, but congrats to Sturt. Two great efforts over the couple years.

Kirkwood, just in awe of how hard he worked. Even in the last ball up deep in Sturts forward line, there he was.

Interesting to compare Beard and Eddy, because I thought Beard had an out-of-sorts ordinary day (perhaps the wind made it hard for forwards?) but he willed himself to make a difference when he could - mark and goal then a htb in the first quarter, tackle on the wing in the last, drawing the two free kicks for the last goal and right at the end.

2004, 2006 & 2011 featured the Eagles, this explains the low crowd figures.
Biggest crowds in 1995 & 1996 featured Centrals, explains the high attendances! :D :D
