Yes, if it's an improvement on recent recruitment efforts. Is it an inanimate carbon rod? Rod is apparently a medallst:

Thompson
Colville
Clayton
Surjan

Just to name a few

What have these guys done as Coaches to be decent?
Why not go after an actual coach rather than a name? I'd be sniffing around Unley if I was them.

In other related news Dean Brogan was seen down at Westies the other day walking around the clubrooms, make of that what you will.

Bassett and Mattner are "Names" that were pretty raw in coaching circles that had an impact and obvious success. Some of those guys mentioned might be good coaches given the chance.

There's a couple of common connections behind the scenes with those 2 "Names" you've mentioned, I'll let you work out who they are. Shop at Unley and you might work it out.

I know it's already been reported he has left Norwood.......

But hearing a rumour Dean Terlich could be heading to the Barossa, possibly taking on a coaching role. Gut feeling is Tanunda but who knows

Tanunda have been trying to get some sanfl players as player coach for next season so probably around the mark. Offering some real good coin.

I really hope it's not Monfries as that was a rumour a few weeks ago. Harrison Wigg would be welcome back though.

Edit: Ah, I've just seen the story about Aidan Tropiano. I hope he's better than that other Sandover medallist Kane Mitchell

It's apparently Aiden Tropeano, the 2015 Sandover Medalist from the WAFL.

What about assistants Riddle and Simmons brought over from Legs to Unley by Oatey ??

Good appointment by South, however Mark has big shoes to fill in replacing Tony Bamford who was exceptional over a number of years. Now that Scott Thompson didn't get the Westies coaching role does he simply move on to South? No care for the club just the job?

Massive shoes to fill, Bamford was outstanding, however with everything he set up at South it should be a fairly smooth transition, just needs to keep the ball rolling in the right direction.
