You'd think so. I've been appalled at some of the things I have discovered since the end of the year. Ah well. You think you know people eh. Paying players is something we're not very good at yet, so lessons learnt.

Nah no names from me.

Seriously hope things go well for the club tonite, onwards and upwards. Great club great people.

Thanks chief, went really well. Great numbers (would have had close to 100) new and old folks.

Adam Hay is the new President of the Mitchell Park Football Club. Known as Sarge, he has the leadership skills to really start pruning things up a bit. A background in the military and as a construction foreman plus a distinguished career as a tough but fair backman for many years - you can imagine why we picked him ;)

Other notables include Joe Leck and Trevor Bennetts who will both take on roles to assist Sarge.

A new structure was also proposed to form an executive body to guide the strategy, finance and business operations - separate from the operational general committee, this will be the think tank moving forward to really drive some important change. Pending approval and constitutional change of course.

Overall I am stoked. We'll be around and fighting out it next year. God damn I love my footy club.

Close to it I would suggest. We've got no issues with numbers within our community, just with numbers of capable footballers.

EDIT: just counted them up and there were 68, bit short, felt like more

Great work, Sarge is my favourite man, club legend, premiership player and tough as nails. He will do a great job.

Would still be great to have a wiley old vet back to help him though. Preferably someone who knows the place and is from Yankalilla.

Know anyone who fits that description?

Is Doctor Evil still coaching at MPFC next year.

You have done well to keep him as I heard he had an offer from a club a few divisions higher than yours.

We havent kept him yet, he has been wonderfully honest about wanting direction and committee support and that he needs to look at options. We completely support that.

Hopefully we've done enough!

Are you still operating out of an oval on the back of a primary school.

Not having a go just reckon the government throw money at all sorts of crap and you guys from what I saw 3 years ago could really use some help.

I know of a new footy club that will pop up out North in the next 2 years so grants and funding is a bit of a hot topic.

Hot tip for new players for Lonsdale - southern end is a 5+ goal advantage regardless of wind and wear decent boots as the grass is like the amazon in places.
