No secret that, Melbourne had to fit Lever in and Port's cap is stretched, the perfect match.
Its as stretched as an African tribesman ear lobe if reports are to believed.

Been stretched for 10 years, has Ports cap. Still the recruits come.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Mate they are everywhere. Bringing in three unwanted players does not guarantee a premiership!

No sh!t! That's why no Port supporters on here are claiming that. (well none that I've seen anyway)

I'm actually filthy with the Impey Trade, I see his next 3-4 years being huge, so much up side.

But to say Ports trade period has been 'C minus' is ridiculous. But one thing is for certain Port will need to be active for some early picks next season.

Nor should any team in the bottom half dozen.

And saying "Port's cap is stretched" of course it's ******* stretched! You have to pay 95% of TPP, most clubs pay closer to 100% of the TPP, you're mad if you don't! ( As long as you're building a list to contend )

Crows chatted to Watts and chased Motlop, but Port get ridiculed for signing them? :?

Were they only worthy while the Crows were the race?

Don't think anyone has ridiculed Port for signing Motlop, more around how much money and length of contract after KCornes and Rucci came out with the fake 600k Crows rumour where a lot of Port supporters came out and said 'Crows can have him at that price, not worth tha much". #360

Watts, well you have to admit he hasn't set the world on fire after being #1 draft pick at Melbourne, he even got dropped this year. He's been ridiculed for years.

Jury out and time will tell whether or not they are masterstrokes or Richard Tambling trades!

IMHO only, exceptional trade period for Port .. For what they've given up compared to what they're getting - 3 Bonafide proven players at their best, whilst discarding deadwood (harsh term, no disrespect intended to Trengove, Impey, Ah Chee and probably Lobbe and maybe Young). Whether these players deliver (as there's never any assurances with ANY player) only time will tell, but there's some bargains there I reckon. Still seem potentially vulnerable at the back I think, but they have some quality kids coming through, hopefully a fit and firing Hombsch who I rate will help out back there.

Their best 24 on paper suddenly starts to look pretty bloody good, so from there it all comes down to form and fitness as it does for every club.

I reckon Port have a good history of being bargain hunters in trade periods and don't appear to have any trouble getting people to want in.

That's the aspect a lot of Port fans will be most pleased with, we have no problems bringing people into the club and rarely have we lost "big" names out of the club. That says plenty about the recruiting teams "sales pitch", the coaches pitch and the leadership group who meet with potential recruits.

It's refreshing to have well and truly put the dark days of the late00's and early 10's behind us.

The two biggest names we've brought in with Ryder and Dixon had very few suitors elsewhere and that could be taken as two fold. 1, nobody else wanted them ( which would be hard to fathom ) or 2, they made it clear they'd selected the club they wanted to be at and don't waste your time whereas all 3 this trade period openly met with other clubs and "shopped" their services around. They still picked Queen St.

My point is that the media ‘beat up’ whatever team they barrack for and played for.

Blokes like KG are old school and hate Port, Rowe and Jarman played for the Crows so are always going to be pro Crows. Plenty of dimwits out there and here think what they say is gospel when it’s all about hysteria.

Kane Cornes is becoming one of the best at saying controversial things just to remain relevant and in the spotlight

Not big fan of Motlop or Watts and had that opinion before Port got them. Rockliff is a gun though but not sure he is what Port needs

Pretty good analysis JK. 3 great ins for the club. Automatically improve our best 22 by some margin and we are likely to lose 1 player from our elimination final side. Our depth may take a bit of a hit, but plenty of kids coming through to take care of that. From our side that played WC you have:

In - Watts, Rockliff, Motlop, Jonas
Out - Impey, Marshall, Bonner, Neade/Amon

Can also make a case for bringing Hombsch in as well and throwing Howard up forward. All of a sudden, looks a very good side.
I honestly think we can challenge probably more so due to the comp being so even but definitely not getting ahead of myself. A lot of things can happen from now until March, let alone next September
