Next year all the clubs should just flood the 'Ken Wood room' and continue negotiations as they line up to formalise their trades...

Exactly. There is nothing on this time of year anyway so the afl loves it filling the news

They're talking to each other now about next year, don't think they've got no irons in the fire for 2018 already.

Port first spoke to Rockliff in 2015 I'm told.

Happy for Matt Lobbe to get another crack but also sad as he was lined up for a position at Westies. Back to the drawing board

Crows have done very well in the trade period but surely there is some under lying issues behind the scenes that a grandfinalist 'team on the rise' rather than team 'at the end of an era' is losing so many players to homesickness.

Leaving a grandfinalist for a Melbourne or Brisbane.........Brisbane ffs is like dating Mila Kunis in the U.S and returning home to Australia to be with Rebel Wilson

Can anyone explain why the above would occur?
Geelong essentially downgraded their pick for nothing?

I thought the crows lost on the Gibbs deal, but big winners with Cameron, a good day overall for them.

On this thread way earlier there is a table of players leaving/traded. Top was Geelong and Adelaide around the 14th place mark.

Our recruiters don’t take home state into account. And going on their track record they know what they doing.

we have a flat pay structure too by all reports. That’s where it could be debatable.

But Geelong are famous for that too.

I get why Richmond would do it, but what's in it for Geelong?
Not like there was an exchange of cash that came with it.

F/S was my first thought too and maybe the other is just getting one in the bank for future trade leveraging purposes...
