I must admit I was a tad pleased as I had a few shekels on Hey Doc primarily thanks to a bonus bet...

Big fan of Hey Doc but it's one of those that I can never catch. When I back it, it goes close, when I don't it wins and knocks me out of Quaddies lol.

Good night last night, could have been better if not for 4 x 2nd placers. Was keen on Chautauqua last night do disappointed to see it get scratched - Once that happened I chucked a small bet on Viddora who ran well as always, but think Joey (as many do at the Valley) got trapped and didn't get out til it was too late.

As I type another 2nd place, not another day of runnerups FFS!!

Got the Box Pick 4 on the Cox Plate - wish Humador had nailed the fav.

So now do we compare her to Makybe as the best Mare ever?

Mooney Valley (Saturday) – The Vase

This is an interesting race. Cliff’s Edge was dominant on-pace last weekend but the track @ Caulfield was heavily biased in favour of front runners – so the short price here might be a bit misleading. The 1000 Guineas winner is very short too, but steps up another 2 furlongs for this race, so again at the short quote is a risk IMHO.

I do like Salsamor as a filly – surprisingly she’s not nominated for the Oaks. That suggests that this race could well be her GF. At the enhanced $14 with Ladbrokes is good value for mine. The $2.60 Place bet is a bit ‘skinny’ but might be a bit of insurance. Happy to take her 3 x 7 Units.

Err, that's because HE has a dick! ... DOH!
(Happy with 3rd - but winner will be unbackable in The Oaks - & she IS a Filly!)
BTW, I am a little surprised no-one picked that up!

Huge run by Humidor, took a champion horse to beat it. Wasn't that impressed with Bowman's ride.

Fair enough, can't argue with a win in record time. Just thought Bowman made her work harder than she had to.
