Good luck to Little Jase, it's great when they get some independence and start to earn some coin of their own. I think they start to work out the real value of money when they go to work for 10-15 hours and get $100-150 for their efforts. They soon work out that $500 is actually quite a bit of money.

Cheers Mate...

Never really been a fan, didn't mind them growing up but found them a bit repetitive, perhaps it was him that I didn't like.

Ha! Wait until he's 21, pays board and says "I pay for the room, I'll leave it how I want".

Me, I've said I pay for the house and if I choose to fit a lock to the house that happens to hold the door shut to that room that's up to me.

In that situation if he seemed to really believe that was OK to say, and was not just joking, I'd be inclined to call his bluff and say "Well go get a room somewhere else then!"

Certainly joking, although Mrs Boon doesn't share the same sense of humor so only one of us were laughing.

This might sound like a 46 year old woman with a minion picture as her profile pic on FB, but....

Finding out who has your back and who doesn't. Sad but freeing at the same time.

There's been a shitload of self reflection over the last month and right now I feel like I can do anything.

I don’t “rate” it in every sense. More relieved than anything, but;

Finally agreed to the sale of our house today, after a long, arduous and financially straining marketing campaign.

Unfortunately my ex and I will incur a financial loss (not a great amount), but I can’t describe the feeling of being able to close this chapter of my life and begin a fresh canvas.

Will move back home and save my arse off in prep for the future. Not thrilled with the idea of moving back in with mum after nearly a decade of independence, but at the same time you have to be thankful for the opportunity to get back on your feet.

Time to tick some goals in 2018.

Mate, you're not the first bloke to get chopped off at the knees, I had to sell my house and I walked away with pretty much a stick with a handkerchief tied to it, I collected my thoughts, spent a lot of time self-assessing and had to suck it all up to face starting life all over again near 40.

It will be a shock to the system, enjoy the opportunity to spend time with your mum and use it all to your advantage, your life will be better off for it after a few months, you'll learn to love it.
