I misunderstood thinking it meant political career over no idea why some of the Greens Senators in Ludlam & Waters quit then.

Can't discredit them if they've got nothing to hide.

From what I understand, watching APAC, the Senate rules are that the next in the party line goes in whereas the HOR people are personally elected so there is a by election. Hence Lucy Gichuhi replaced Bob Day

Bob Katter on APAC. Funny man...

He should be returned after the by-election, preferable to gracing the high court. Not really his fault though, hard to de-deuce his actual origins. His baseline support is strong, and has served the electorate well.

Technically the government dont have a majority at the moment with only 74 now against Labor + green + independents = 74.

Thats until the by elections in which Joyce and Anderson will likely be returned. Hence dont expect anything through the lower house until then.

More fun in the Canberra circus tent.

Jacquie Lambie's now quit the Senate as a dual citizen, and former NSW premier Kristina Keneally had put her hand up to run for Labor against John Alexander in Bennelong. Interesting choice by Labor, unsure if that'll unsettle the Libs though given Bennelong's now back as a safe Liberal seat.
