Even just a decent striker would make this team very good.

Instead juric can’t even hit the target one on one with the keeper and zero pressure

The field ref has been excellent. The ones on the sideline have been disgraceful.

Good result for Australia but we really should have won and that would have locked it up

Honduras had us covered in the first 20mins. The long high ball over the defence worked a treat....then they stopped. We started to get a bit more of the ball and had the better scoring chances.
But we are slow in defence and our attack is wayward

59 years.
As sad as I am that they aren’t there it’s the kick up the backside they needed. Italian football has stagnated for years and the old cronies in charge have blood on their hands. Hopefully a massive clean out is on the cards. A coach with a clue wouldn’t go astray either, Ventura is useless

I think it’s awesome a few big teams missed out - it means the qualification process actually means something.

Puts our game vs Honduras into perspective too

A travesty when big teams miss out after being in a group of death whilst crap Asian sides make it playing minnows. I’d like to see all the qualifiers mixed up and drawn from a pot for playoffs

The reality is they are only a second string European side these days. And if they can’t beat Sweden they don’t deserve to be there

Lol
Sweden would wipe the floor with any Asian side as would Italy. Wouldn’t be an Asian or North American side who would qualify if they had to play in European groups.

Since Sweden scored in their first leg against Italy, the next 6 World Cup play off games have been all 0-0 draws. Not just Australia that struggles to score in these games
