That is singular enough reason to sack the entire selection panel immediately.

Getting run out on 83 is inexcusable. Terrible cricket could be a real turning point in this innings.

One wonders what Australia would be at this time of the day if they had batted, would think they would be 60 to 70 more runs on.

The over cautious batting from England may end up proving costly

At least it's not 7/148.

It was a slowish pitch early tho

Let's not forget England were written off, 5-0, they're a joke, full of no bodies blah blah blah. I think it's great for this test and more importantly the series that they've started day 1 well.

Agree entirely, just saying we would have been more aggressive, IMO if England score over 400 in the 1st dig they will probably go close to winning the test match ;)

Not a bad day for us. If you said root and cook would score 17 between them I thought we would be in all sorts so I'm pretty happy. Stoneman, Vince and Malan all looked good which is hugely important. Big session in the morning, need a score of 400 cos I think we may struggle to bowl the Aussies out on this pitch. Also Nathan Lyon is a terrific cricketer, deserves so much credit for what he's turned himself into.
