Cap is $350k isn't it? 15% reduction is $52.5k, for footy clubs that turn over $3-$4m each year I'm not sure it impacts their end result much.

Try 2-3 Mill Dutchy, Glenelg is certainly closer to 2.

Well..clearly 50k isnt a lot of coin down Glenelg way ....  .... but you need every cent when you desperately attempting to retain players who are fielding offers from rival clubs and attempting to recruit a few to replace those that are leaving for more money than we can pay them in the bush.

Wow. You beat our offer of a burnt pie and on ground car parking.

Slightly more seriously, would not have seen that coming (leaving the Eagles not the going to North).

Top Player. I'm hearing $50k transfer fee. That's unbelievable if true. One of the best rebound players in SANFL and I consider him AFL material. Salary caps and money hurting all clubs.

The Woodville West Torrens Football Club would like to advise members, corporate partners and supporters that with much disappointment, Jarred Allmond has decided to quit the club 6 weeks after committing and signing a contract in early October to play on next season.
Jarred was very much a required player and his decision to quit had nothing to do with the culture of our club or his value as a player, simply a more lucrative offer. Jarred has now signed with North Adelaide Football Club after negotiating a transfer fee.
After more than 10 years of investing time and development into Jarred both on and off field as a person and a footballer, the WWTFC is disappointed with this decision. We now move forward as a Club and continue to strive for success in 2018 with a fully committed and united playing group.

If he had a contract with the Eagles how did he sign with North?
Did the Eagles let him go in the end?

Cheers for the info, goddy. Sounds like a valuable addition to our stocks, and a bit of a loss for the Eagles.

Also seems like the powers that be at North have finally realised there's money stuffed in the mattresses at Prospect and we should do something with it.

And Jarrad would be a better footballer than all 3 Magpie players put together.
He’s a very good footballer.

$30-40k is more than fair for a quality player so no harm starting negotiations high

Who was the last player transferred for that sort of coin?
I’ll doubt we’ll see it again with the state of the comp and clubs finances.

The max transfer fee was 25 or 30k a few years ago, has it gone up that much?
Not that money is an issue for North.
