CA love attacking batsman, they love players who have intent to score and can accelerate when needed. Renshaw can not. He will be overtaken in the pecking order my players who do i.e. Weatherald

I wonder if Burns has re-emerged on the pecking order?

What would be the pecking order for openers ATM?

Warner
Bancroft
Renshaw
Weatherald
Doolan

Weathers would certainly be worth looking at in a limited over format initially.

Well ODI's and T20's have become like charity matches, there's been blokes I've never heard of make the team.

Doolan usually bats at 3 for Tasmania but did open in their last match.

Burns 308 runs @ 38.50 this season, is going ok.
Marcus Harris is another guy who has been going well in FC cricket, currently 324 @46.28

I think you migjt be thinking of Joel Paris? He is the most recent left armer to debut in the ODI team. He's from WA.

Renshaw should not have been dropped for the 1st Test. Came in to the side as opener for the Adelaide Oval Test last year (after the Hobart debacle) and performed very well, including 180 in his last Test innings in Australia and a solid series in India in difficult conditions. Showed a temperament and valuing of his wicket more so than any other Aussie for years.

Since when has Shield form mattered? Half the time the Aussies hardly play a Shield game before the Test summer.

Bancroft should have come in to the side at 6.

I get the feeling it might be a long road back for Renshaw. Not sure he fits in any position besides opener and the position is now Bancroft's to lose - of which you shouldn't lose because of a few average Shield performances.

Yes and no, his form has been horrible of late and if they are going to introduce a selection process based on form, I'm all for it, there is inconsistency obviously based on Paine's inclusion, Marsh was a bit of "go with what we know" as well as him being a perennial favourite.

Sayers back for us. Good and bad news. Would have loved to have seen him in the test. Get the feeling it's just never going to happen for him :(

Richardson out injured, Worrall still out. Ross and Grant in.

Would we go with a pace attack of Sayers, Mennie, Valente? Or does Zampa miss and Grant plays as well? Not sure what Cairns will dish up.
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

Drop in wicket at Cazaly's so who knows what they will dish up.

As soon as any Redback player gets mentioned in the same sentence as a possible future Australian player you can all but guarantee they'll fail the next few matches FFS
Ferguson could make 400 in this innings but will never get talked about again to get a call up whilst Hackswell makes a double ton on a primary school ground and some want him in the Test team for the next 10 years FFS
