What's a fair sort of allowance per week that most blokes go by? If there is such a thing?

I'm trying to stick to a budget but have no idea how much is reasonable, basically whatever I don't waste is going towards something good but where is the line?

I put 10% of wage into an account to piss up against a wall on booze, cocaine and tattoos.

Whatever you can afford to spend.

Work the other way.

I document every transaction I make (try to do everything on card and not cash) and then you know how much you are spending in certain areas.

Then categorise it into variable (shopping food entertainment) and fixed expenses (car, insurances, utilities)

Then you can work out how much you have left over and whether you can shave off money from here and there.

By doing that, I didn’t actually realise how much I was spending on eating out - lunch with work colleague, wife would go out for lunch with a friend, few coffees, then either a restaurant or take away on the weekend, sometimes both.

If we went to a nice restaurant it could easily get to $600+ a month. And it’s an expense you can easily cut down on if you wanna save etc.

Yeah, I've learnt a hell of a lot in just a few days as we fully disected our transactions over the past few months, it was a real eye opener to how much I waste.

On the same token Bedge, if I blow $50 on a slab. I will drink at least a dozen of them in the first sitting, I can only drink 6 if I only have 6.

I drink a fair bit of Coopers Mild these days, pretty decent for a mid strength (not that Ive tried many/any other middies) .. Obviously that won't be making its way into Adelaide Oval in a hurry (likely ever) though.

The amount of complaints was amazing, overseas visitors were asking why we cant have a South Australian beer such as Coopers there instead of a Japanese beer when trying to showcase SA to the world.

Once again supply and demand though, while people keep drinking huge amounts of Japanese beer at AO, they wil keep selling it. The people that complain are there own worst enemies. I personally refuse to touch it.

It’s got nothing to do with how much people drink - it’s a captive market. More to do with how much sponsorship dollars lion Nathan give to cricket Australia
