And I heard Lewie say he was going to south was a done deal coach changed Fuller became coach said Lewie was to old he tried out for the Eagles .

Godden went & got Lewis, that’s how he ended up at Woodville Oval.
He’d coached him previously at Glenelg.

Get your facts totally straight and correct Spargo . As I mentioned Lewis said he was going to south before Godden was appointed the eagles coach he recommended Lewis to south Adelaide . They changed coaches Fuller was on the panel to pick a coach but got the job . Then said Lewis was too old .
In the mean time Godden was appointed eagles coach . Lewis was given try outs in the eagles seconds trials then was signed .
So there you go that’s the entire story I heard come out the mouth of Scot Lewis

Ummm, a couple of things...
Fuller told Lewis he was too old? On the WWT website it states his age as currently 30. This means when Fuller took over at South in 2010, Lewis was 22 or 23 - yet apparently too old???
Secondly, when he was told he wasn’t wanted by South, who then do you think got him to the Eagles???

I’m only telling you what Lewis said which is truthfully what I heard him say .
You can go look up stuff all you like this came out of Scot Lewis’s mouth
Fuller was a strange coach
Hey if you saw what I wrote Godden tried him out in the seconds trial games only after Godden was happy he was signed to the eagles .

Rather than be so dummy spitting at the big bad Eagles bogeyman taking your unwanted players like Scot Lewis go look at Glenelg

I was sitting at a game in a grandstand hearing Scot lewis saying what I wrote .
Honestly you seem to have issues with the Eagles
I have no issues with Glenelg or any other SANFL club

The last player the eagles got before the end of 2017
Was from Glenelg who was an eagle player that went to Port then left them went to Glenelg for some reason he didn’t want to leave Glenelg but whatever reason he was shown the door
Are you complaining that an unwanted Glenelg player signed with the eagles and played his best games against Glenelg
A bit like Mac Gregor who has retired and Scot Lewis
Players who left Glenelg long before they became eagle players

I don't know about the others, but Lewis went straight from Glenelg to the Eagles.

Loxton North > West Adelaide > Loxton North > Glenelg > Eagles.

Corrected timeline, I forgot about the South Clare stint:

Loxton North > West Adelaide > Loxton North > Glenelg > South Clare > Eagles.

I think you will find that JJ quit Glenelg because his exact words were im getting screwed with my pay for next year. Glenelg went in a pay structure where you get a sign on fee but every league player gets paid the same per game. They did that so they knew every week how much was going out and could keep under the salary cap. If every player was on a different pay they wouldnt be able to keep a track of payments. JJ was not happy because he believed he deserved more so he left. Alot of Glenelg players and coaches were glad to see the back of him.

That’s slightly different to what I’ve been told .
End of the day it’s not me an Eagles fan whinging here
Just a Glenelg fan complaining about the Eagles taking players
Again JJ had left Glenelg so why whinge
Again macgregor had left Glenelg so why whinge
Again as shown Lewis had left Glenelg why whinge
Wouldn’t it have been better if they were required players when they played for Glenelg the club took steps to keep them.
Instead we have disgruntled Glenelg fans blaming the Eagles

And the Cap issue surely every SANFL club have steps or programs so they don’t go over .
