Even with the new ball the pitch didn't offer much to the bowlers and Steve Smith looked like he was playing in the backyard it was that easy. (from Website)

Cook, Richards, Cowper, all double hundreds in a test, Sarfraz and Mailey most wickets in a test (think 18 or 19), only a guess here, really got no idea

You are around the mark. Cook now has the second highest score (244*) in a test at the MCG, Cowper (307) still has the highest score. Richards (208) name has now been taken down because Cook has overtaken his score.

Mailey and Sarfraz have the best wicket hauls in an innings at the MCG. They both took 9 wickets in an innings. Mailey 9 for 121 and Sarfraz 9 for 86.

Not quite correct.
The names on there are for the highest score and best bowling by an Australian and likewise for touring teams.
Cook’s is only number 6 on the list with Cowper, Bradman,Yallop, Ponting and Langer all having higher knocks.

Was funny hearing Boycott give the MCG pitch a roast while the other CA sycophants were defending it

That doesn't seem feasible.

Given that in theory there is at least an hour's play left, England need 99 to win at a rate of something like 6.66 runs per over. A hard task on this pitch but not impossible.

Both captains just agreed to call the game off as no result possible, England were never going to bat again.

Yep, deadset disgrace.
Has played almost identical from day 1, has offered nothing for the quicks and we are on day 5 and it hasn’t even offered much for the spinners either. May aswell just play on hard wicket

Yep, i did see somewhere the pitches at the MCG are in single trays, ie only 3m wide and apparently 18inches deep. The theory is the clay doesnt have anywhere to move so it doesnt break up, Adelaide Oval on the other hand is one whole tray i believe which for memory has 6 wickets or roughly 18m wide which allows the clay to move as it dries and break up, not that it breaks up a great deal but at least it does something.

Concrete would be more interesting, at least there is some pace in the wicket, Cummins would be a bit lively
