Apparently Crane has a surprise delivery, it's called the Larusso.

Match delayed by rain.

Probably looking forward more to the strikers game tonight than this dead rubber. Even though I love test cricket.

Been thinking over this series, and don't know if it's just me imagining it or not.. but am I alone in thinking the commentators, every opportunity they get praise the efforts of those who were "suspect" selections? Marsh, Marsh, Paine in particular?

I mean it's good they get the praise, but over the last couple tests, I've got the distinct impression they're really trying to drive home the point - like they're "brainwashing" the viewing audience about how good the selections are, and how right the selectors got it.

I understand Cranes selection has also been endorsed by Mick Gatto.

Apparently the delivery targets players who like to sweep to leg.

I think its just blatant australian barracking of any form. They were extremely hesitant to criticise the melbourne pitch even though most other outlets were teeing off on it and it was rated as poor.

Yes.
Tim Paine in particular deserves his......hardly a **** up for 4 Tests and just does his job. Takes 90% of chances and contributing with the stick with 30 to 60 runs each innings.

The previous keeper was 50/50 and barely scored above 10.

Paine a definite success.

S. Marsh has been reasonable and came to the party when needed in Adelaide.

M. Marsh scored big on a flat deck, when batting with the Twitchy Zen Master. His bowling has been okay. If he's a batting allrounder, he needs to perform more regularly and I'd like to see him bat well with someone over than Smith. He's got a long way to go to prove that the selectors got this one right.

Mitch certainly needs to do it consistently and over a long period of time, but except for a couple of wickets and a dropped catch you cant really ask for much more

Agreed. Consistency and then they can talk up the selectors' brilliance.

I can’t recall a more uninspiring visiting Ashes captain for quite some time...
