Been thinking over this series, and don't know if it's just me imagining it or not.. but am I alone in thinking the commentators, every opportunity they get praise the efforts of those who were "suspect" selections? Marsh, Marsh, Paine in particular?

I mean it's good they get the praise, but over the last couple tests, I've got the distinct impression they're really trying to drive home the point - like they're "brainwashing" the viewing audience about how good the selections are, and how right the selectors got it.

I think its just blatant australian barracking of any form. They were extremely hesitant to criticise the melbourne pitch even though most other outlets were teeing off on it and it was rated as poor.

Channel 9 for years on end has been blantant barricking for the Aussie. Won’t change.

The commentary team is basically coached by CA

Hence why I mute the tv and listen to the BBC coverage.

That sums up our series, get into a good spot only to squander it. Happened in brisbane, perth and now here. Very frustrating and joe's inability to convert 50s is unbelievable. Hes to good to be converting that poorly, its been the biggest difference in the series the difference between smith and root.

Whilst it’s very frustrating and I feel it with ya, in fairness to Root he didn’t do a lot wrong it wasn’t as if it was a brain fade or silly shot and you seen what it meant to him getting dismissed late in the day and in the 80’s (4th 50 of the series)

Your spot on tho- Basically every test 1 innings has killed England, Smith twice, Warner,M.Marsh, S. Marsh in Adelaide and other than Malan and Cooks Double no one has gone on with it.

Obviously the bowling cartel is no comparison at all!
