carey I've decided you're the biggest pessimist in the world - are you even a Strikers supporter? You never have any remotely positive to say about the Strikers lol.

Sure last night was a game that was a missed opportunity, but it was a shoebox of a ground, and that's the format that is T20, it's designed that any side can win really.

Archer was brilliant, landed most his deliveries and bowled with good pace, he won the game for the Hurricanes IMO.

Thought it was good to see Ingram make some runs finally as well, and people who are tearing shreds off Neser should remember it was less than a week ago he pretty well won us the game on NYE.

Shit happens, I don't care if we lose BBL games - and most of you on here shouldn't either considering a lot of you picked a bottom 2 finish and lucky to win a game... rather win the Sheffield Shield, but BBL is good to pass time each night.

Good to see Ingram get going... just in time with Head being absent in upcoming games. Batting will continue to be our achilles heel although only 2 of our stellar bowling group stepped up today with Laughlin and Siddle unusually taken to the cleaners.

Was an entertaining game of cricket. We were always behind the eight ball but almost managed to nick it.

Pfft so Neser wasnt? 0/47. *Edit oops i just seen the word unusually in your statement*
Those defending Neser have a short memory, one good game in how many effing years? He's been a disaster the moment he arrived. He's your budget all rounder on peanuts, obviously no one else wants him, He's the cricket equivalent of Jake Neade

I'm not the worlds biggest Neser fan, i'd rather Jono Dean for the extra bat, but to compare him to Jake Neade is harsh - Neser a few years ago had very good BBL seasons, and generally speaking he picks up wickets. He also strikes at better than a run a ball, considering he doesn't face many it's not the worst.

Going backwards:

0/47 v Hurricanes
2/7 v Heat
2/42 v Sixers
0/5 v Thunder
2/14 v Renegades
1/25 v Stars
0/28 v Hurricanes
2/37 v Scorchers
2/15 v Renegades
3/26 v Hurricanes

Bat: 269 runs @ 19.21 S/R 116.95 HS 40*
Bowl: 41 wickets @ 26.04 Eco 8.74

If people want to point fingers at players, these are my choices:

Batting
Jake Weatherald - 35 runs @ 8.75
Jake Lehmann - 61 runs @ 20.33 - he's gone ok at times, but he had a world of luck v Heat and he just comes across as dumb sometimes, plays ramps/sweeps at the wrong time, and last night with 3 players behind square on the off, and two more sweeping the cover region he still planted his feet and tried to hit through the off side.

Bowling
Travis Head - 6 over, 2/59, eco 9.83
Michael Neser - 10 overs, 4/96, eco 9.60 - despite sticking up for him, his economy still worries me

In the event you swap Dean for Neser who is the 5th bowler?

I think all teams have weaknesses. Theres just not enough talent to spread around proven by guys who have no first class record getting gigs. Twenty20 games are about protecting the weaknesses whilst using your strengths at optimal moments.

Lacks genuine change of pace is the only reason I can think of. Its the same reason he's not in the Redbacks white ball first XI.

If Head is determined to continue bowling, then you have him and Ingram as spinners that you could get 4 overs out of i'm sure.

Reckon Siddle has shown this campaign that bowling accurate medium fast can be effective

Just gimme someone who can hit a Yorker - speed means stuff all, half the quicks end up bowling predominantly slower balls anyway lol

I see Head still hasnt improved against "spin" in this form of the game, Green 2 overs for 4 in the power play, none of the strikers take enough risk against so called spin. Green easily one of the worst in the BBL. We make him look like Narine

And out for 12 off 13, they bowled spin to him the whole innings.

This game is gone
