Packing a few bit and pieces into the car for a road trip tomorrow to Griffith.. including the golf clubs. Heading up to call on a somewhat difficult customer, smooth him over, probably take him to lunch. Then head back south towards the river and a hit of golf Saturday am. I get paid for this shit!

Page 3 of todays paper.

CFS volunteers who saved a house during the Sherwood fire in the South East left a note to apologise for their dirty footmarks on the carpet.

It was the right thing to do said the CFS Captain, who at age 65 has been the Captain since 1976!

I say none of these men and women who volunteer for the sake of everyone else should pay the Emergency Services Levy. None.

That’s awesome.

I agree, but anyone who works in the emergency services should pay anything.

Even if we have to pay extra to subsidise emergency services workers.
Don’t know what the numbers would be but surely charging everyone an extra $10 a year would go close to covering it.

Surely it’s at least a tax deduction for them already?

Pat Cash, his speech/interview this morning on Channel 9s was top notch. Respect the guy so much.
Channel 9 obviously just wanted to chat about the tennis but the way he used his time to go into bat for indigenous people and issues they face as well as how he could never celebrate Australia Day was spot on, well educated and classy.
Feel even better that I stayed up watching him win Wimbledon in 1987 Now! :)

nope.

a couple of years ago when the government put the ESL up, there were a large number of cfs volunteers that quit in protest i believe. and there are still more that currently refuse to attend any fires that are on government property, like national parks etc. farmers were some of the hardest hit by the increase, and they are usually also the ones on the cfs trucks.

Nah, it's a combined awards night. So they give out the All-Star awards. I'm pretty sure its things like MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive POY, and positional awards.

And then they induct past players into the HOF on the night.

I've played 3 seasons (1 shit, 1 decent and 1 good). No HOF for me.

Plenty of time for that, then. Nonetheless, very impressive.
