I see Diggs drew a flag for throwing his helmet in celebration- anyone know what the penalty was, and if it was enforced?

Bloody hell, mate. If it weren't for the Hawks, the emojis might be literal.

Hard luck!

Feel for ya Mattee, I don't know what I think even know.

Got to admit, I had tuned out those final couple plays and was only half-watching. Couldn't believe we'd blown the game with some of things we'd done, admittedly against a good opponent who was always going to come at us at some stage. It felt like we became complacement from just before half time, sort of it didn't really matter if we got that FG just before the half because we were doing it that easy it would just continue.

Imagine it probably would have been a yardage penalty on the kick-off if the game was continuing?

Yeah it would've been a 15 yard penalty, enforced at the end of the kick return.

Will the Saints enforce it in their game next season? :D

They had a kg of wings for $15 last time I was there for SB. Great day.

Going to the Woodcroft this year so I can 'walk' home...

I've never quite understand the penalties after scores, such as the difference between this one and one in the Jags/Steelers game where there was a flag on the Steelers during an extra point attempt and the penalty was five yards on the kick-off spot, which is kinda irrelevant because it leads to a certain touchback, so could be just as advantageous to the penalised team.

On PAT flags, how would a penalty of an extra point go? So if the defending team interfered, the kicking team could kick for two points, or maybe throw a 3-point conversion.

They can take the kick again if they missed. If there's a penalty on a PAT thats successful, its usually just waved off as they scored anyway. Exactly the same if there is defensive pass interference on a touchdown. The offensive team will just decline the penalty and take the TD.
