Second highest run scorer for Australia in ODI’s over the last 12 months. Surely gives him a bit of leeway?

Take ya biased goggles off Jim, he's probably the worst player of spin in the country even Joe Root had him in all sorts. Cant be picked for Australia again until he sortds out this deficiency. Also needs to start making tonnes consistently instead 30 and 40. Other than that he's not far off.
Not sure the Strikers need him in the form he is in, just restricts Ingrams time at the crease

I agree regarding his playing of spin and until he fixes it he is in strife

Warner and Smith both underwhelming.
Head fails and out in disappointing fashion.
Marsh and Finch steady ship but then both get out close together undoing their salvage job
Finch the star but not going on past 100.
Lessons not learnt... coach anf senior players asleep at the wheel.

Reckon the same script will bring about the same result. Our bowling line up is the lamest and least experienced in modern memory... and we have misread the wicket with no spinner. How does England guess the conditions better than the home team?

Very poor from management down. Heading for 9th loss in 10 games...

yep well said, agree entirely, looking at the Aust bowling lineup, Smith and Head are going to have to bowl 10 between them

Smith and Head will have to bowl 10 each and bowl them like Warne and Murali to have any chance in this

So who in oz right now would be brave enough to suggest white is a better pick than Maxwell?

No... not now and not for wc nxt year.

Selectors did a great job in the tests but... like all other stakeholders... they are asleep at the wheel.

Australia are a crap one day team. Do the selectors over think it? Lyon has made the poms look second rate all summer...but they won't pick him in 50 over cricket.

Of course it’s different but it’s all just preparation for the next WC. There will be numerous changes to the side by time it comes around and I’m still betting we make it to the pointy end of the tournament as usual

Yeah they should and probably will be there at the pointy end... I take it back they are not crap, they are not as good as they should be. Still think Lyon should have a crack. Head out of form with bat and ball. Get Short in ASAP.

Another Mickey Mouse tournament. We got spanked in that in 2013 aswell and still went on to win the WC.

Are there any 50 over comps left besides the World Cup that aren't just stocking fillers?

Agree skids on. Facing blokes like that it can feel like they make pace off the deck.

I was keen to see how Richardson went and he's pretty impressive tonight. His extra skiddy pace looks to be ideal when coming from first class cricket to the internationals.

The bits I've seen of the first two games it's interesting to see the difference in Joe Root's demeanour. Calm and jocular as opposed to on edge in the proper stuff.
