I'm absolutely gutted I don't get to play at OTH this year, from memory they've got the cheapest beers going, aside from ours ($4 super dry, $3 red tins).

Yeah, always good up the hill, cheap piss, food is cheap and get pleasant smokey clouds drift past to make you smile.

Grade 1 seems to be done and dusted, I can't see the top changing in any way looking at the draw ahead.

Only possible thing could be Mark Gebauer's 93 against Craigmore in round 1 could be what see's his new home miss out on finals as it denied the Blues an outright against the Billiegoats.

FWIW, i think that Riverside may avoid relegation at the expense of the Gardens given the tough last 3 rounds the Gardens face.

Grade 2 is a mere formality, luckily the heated out round saw Eastern Park and the Units miss out on playing each other, it makes the GF more exciting and it didn't have an advantage either way for any of the other six teams who are all around the same mark.

The Adelaide Warriors have been the surprise packet as I thought they'd be somewhere around the mark, the wheels seem to have buckled a little out at NEK who I'm surprised have slipped out of the 4, How the hell Smithfield are sitting 3rd has baffled me but good on them giving some kids a shot and it's paid dividends.

You'd assume Eyre Royals will finish the season off strongly in Grade 3, the added batting and keeping skills of Scotty Keylock makes them a lot stronger outfit, North Pines are appearing threatening, Westies and Enfield have been consistent all season and have some firepower, Westies may be disadvantaged come finals time with the quality footballers in the team, 4 of them playing at new clubs in 2018 so you'd assume they will want to play trials.

Yeah, especially given that they play the big two in the final two rounds.

3rd and 4th will be interesting as it wont be from teams winning their way into it, it will be form teams not losing their way to relegation.

I think Smithfield will stay in there, ATCO seem to have the best run home from here though.

Super was coach this year i believe. They played out at Cove before Xmas and got rolled.

4x games remain, and this weekend appears it'll be heated out. Top 2 is well set, next 4 still fighting for finals positions, while you'd think it's a bridge too far for Riverside to make the 4. One Tree Hill set to be relegated, but their remaining matches will prove interesting - playing both Dublin and Riverside, winnable games for the Billy Goats and causing an upset in either one could not only cost that side a finals spot, but subject them to relegation.

Craigmore appear to have a favourable draw to finish, with Riverside, Angle Vale and Parafield Gardens in it's final 3 games, one win should be enough to lock away a top 4 spot, while Parafield Gardens have one of the toughest with Virginia and Westies in the coming weeks.

Smithfield have a friendlier finish with the Warriors and ATCO coming up, before finishing with CU - they would appear best placed to finish inside the 4.

I think Angle Vale may do enough to avoid relegation, and ATCO will be the side that drops down. Interestingly with ATCO it shows the gap in Grades with their B, C and D grades pretty well dominating the other grades. Are there players that possibly could boost their A grade that aren't going up?

Interesting results at the weekend has thrown this competition wide open. Don't be fooled by the closeness of teams 5 and 6, the top 4 is well and truly set in this - where they finish though is up for grabs. North Pines have emerged as a genuine contender, chasing down 250 odd against the Royals on the weekend with relative ease - they have now beaten both the top 2 sides, and lost to Enfield by only 3 wickets defending 80.

Parafield Gardens would need an outright result in the final 3 games to be a chance - perhaps even two, but with North Pines having Central United coming up you'd think they'll win comfortably.

The bottom two are set to be relegated, Riverside somewhat surprises me, having seen them in a T20 earlier this year, I thought they were better than results show.

Royals still the side to beat, but the competition is rapidly closing the gap.

ATCO clear on top look the side to beat, but Salisbury West on their day have quite a formidable lineup. Good to see North Eastern Knights amongst it, and if they get Balding for finals then they could do some damage.

One Tree Hill is the dark horse from here in my opinion. Have played them twice this season and they were probably unfortunate not to win both games, some periods of lapse cost them when in good positions, but they have some handy sorts. Round 13 may prove to be the match to decide 4th spot when they face off against Eyre Royals.

The bonus for Royals is their cross over game is against 4th placed North Pines, where as One Tree Hill face the BedgeBad juggernaut of Enfield.

Looks to be a cracking finals series in this grade.

Enfield will finish top comfortably you'd imagine, but the test will come in the 2 dayers. By far the best one day side in this division due to the depth in bowling that Enfield has always had, but in the 2 day stuff earlier in the year were lucky to get out of it with the wins. North Pines proved difficult to overcome, and Angle Vale despite losing comprehensively both times have players that look more than capable of damage.

ATCO appear to be strengthening with Lord, Childs and Tomlinson now sniffing around, combined with Graham, Boulton, Knox it looks a good side. Due to the heated out game, they'll avoid Enfield until potentially the Grand Final, and then could surprise them.

Eyre Royals will be relegated, good bunch of lads, just struggled in this division. McQueen the lone hand, but they've been positive and battled hard when we have played them, have a lot of respect for how they've gone about it and the work Rayner has done keeping his group upbeat.

In regards to Atco your probably right in that there is some blokes who could play up in grade 2.

In saying that nearly all of them are over 40 years old and would only be very short term options

Atco have decided to go down the path of giving some talented but very young youth a go. I think that's a pretty fair deciscion on their behalf

Fair call too, I wasn't trying to suggest guys were sandbagging either - just highlighted the obvious gulf that is growing between Grade 1/2 and the rest.

I do think with the inclusion of a couple C&CCA clubs though, that gulf will decrease, and if Para Vista join next year that will only strengthen the top 3 grades more.

There is probably is a very tiny element of sandbagging but to be honest probably a deserved time for sandbagging, there is only so many times you can continue to call on the likes of Gary Sutton, Paul Osborne who no doubt would probably be in the best 11. Wayne Osborne is back at the club but obviously getting on and his days of being able to play with his brother Paul are numbered.

More than anyone I've ever met, but not so much in the last couple of years.I think the last of his enjoyment came through playing with his son.

His son isn't really playing anymore preferring to concerntrate on footy, he recently made some Port power academy thing, Gaz prefers to get out and watch his trial games, training etc which will start soonish
