So what context does the upcoming Australia Day ODI have?

i think i misread. im on your side :D

No different to two teams who can't make finals playing, 'dead rubbers' exist in all sports

Dare i say it but a game of country cricket playing on after the score has been passed has more riding on it than the remaining 2 one day internationals

I agree the games now aren't relevant but it's no different to any series/league/competition/tournament they generally all have meaningless games unless it's a knockout comp

WTF? Carey is playing and not opening. I just assumed he was with the Aussie side when I seen Dean opening.

Over 400 runs opening the batting yet we’ll drop him down the order? Yep makes heaps of sense. Idiots

Makes lots of sense... regardless of todays game we will have a semi at home next week. And Carey will not be there. Needed to open with someone who may have the job next week.
Also Agar getting a game in readiness
If u dont like it today then dont watch nxt week cos it will get uglier! We will not win.. we will get thumped. Today was an attempt to stymie the damage

Carey Stanlake and Head wont be available nxt week due to twenty20 national duties. Which means we have just two batsmen. The Sa team has been dealt a shite sandwich.... i dont blame them trying to give guys who will be needed nxt week a decent go... careys impact today has no bearing on nxt weeks final

Jake Lehman has a bit of Jack Silvagni about him.... not quite a chip off the old block. A sliver perhaps.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!
