Owned by the same family who own The Southern and Gawler Arms. It certainly caters for a certain market.
I've spent a fair bit of time drinking with the owner over the years and he knows how to make money. Very astute.

i find it relatively expensive and borderline quality.

but not too expensive or too low a quality to not go back there again.

so yep he is probably maxing out the profit on those places

Plus the kids indoor playground wins a huge market in 'parents who want to take kids out but not actually watch their kids'

Very astute businessmen

But same as you Benny I have had nothing but very standard to ordinary food from there

Taminga is usually when I see my wife’s grandmother. My grandparents love the Southern too so whenever we have family lunches we probably end up in a gianotto establishment 50% of the time. Much to my chagrin

Cafe de villi

Service was shockingly poor

Chicken mushroom pie
Beef bacon and cheese pie

Both had 0 filling...

Kranski was the highlight.

Haven't been to Mile End for yonks, but the service at Blair Athol has been average in the few times I've been there.

Now the pie fillings are sacrificed to pay for the party....

Commercial Hotel Jamestown

Typical country pub. Decor likely hasn’t changed in 20 years but the AC was cranked up (probably too high, I was cold!)

Menu was mostly standard pub fare with a few specials like Sri Lankan curry. Of which I normally steer well clear of.

One thing that was interesting was kangaroo schnitzel - never even seen that on a menu before so I thought I would give it a crack. Comes in single or double sizes, I went the double for $25 or so.

Schnitzel was thick, was similar to a porterhouse beef schnitzel in terms of thickness. Decent size too. Wasn’t anything wrong with crumbs, salad was just lettuce and tomato with a bit too much Italian dressing. Chips were nice but under the schnitzel.

Mrs has a seafood basket which was what you would expect from a country pub.

$56 with a coopers session ale and lemon lime and bitters.

Sure have, it goes on every burger or steak sandwich that gets made in our house.

Mrs and Miss put it on their chips, Junior on anything...

Same with us now, it is the bomb.

Tested it out tonight.....delish.

Thanks for the heads up

Dalrymple Hotel Stansbury

Been a few times and as far as decor goes, hands down the best setting in the area.

Had the beef shnit with mushroom sauce and was delicious

Wife had the salad special with chicken which she rated highly.

Menu is on the higher price bracket when it comes to pub food but was definitely worth it

Would recommend

A trivia question for you: What connection to the Australian cricket team does the Gianotto name have?

Yeah,l I definitely don't go there for the service, it's akin to a school canteen, I don't mind the kransky deal they have if the missus feels like stopping in carting my pissed arse home from the pub.
