Is this the Renault replacement?

Correct. OAK Plus and Renault were joint major partners, I believe a new major partner will soon be announced.

Saw this on bigfooty last night

The red numbers represent expected revenue based on an average of 8.8% increase league wide. Collingwood have the highest revenue which is what they have based the 8.8% increase off of. So its a rough guide for the ones that haven't reported their finances yet.

Whilst true, Port Adelaide should be about winning flags and not making money. Every cent should be poured into that ideal. So sure, cutting costs or eating into debt would make for a better balance sheet. but that's not what the club is about.

that's the difference between a football club... and a corporation.

Perfectly happy with a $1 profit if it means a large swathe of our cash is being spent on making us better. In fact I would be pissed if we recorded any significant profit in any non premiership winning year.

Great Post. I couldn't agree more. :YMAPPLAUSE:

I agree with everything you said except for the bold part. Ridiculous statement.
Clubs need to re-invest constantly. They cannot do this breaking even every year otherwise why would they bother.

All clubs are now 'corporations', marketing is as big as ever in hope of making money. Clubs with large memberships and corporate sponsorships are spending big on their football departments, updating facilities etc. hence why 'profits' can be misleading IMO.

I meant profit *after* reinvesting. I see no purpose in football clubs having nice savings accounts, in other words.

Contrary to popular opinion, football clubs are not corporations.

Well, most of them aren't, anyway ;)

Maybe on paper, but they're actually not in operation. The football club that makes $1 but wins the flag is much more successful than the football club that makes $1M and finished 10th. That's not the case for a corporation where profit is paramount. Seems like a small difference but it shifts the culture of that organisation significantly.

Yes, there is a correlation between football club spend and success, which is why, as you correctly mention "profits" are naff in this context.

Yep Port had revenue of $58,000,000 and made a Net Profit of $28,000 and consequently have not reduced their large debt which is probably costing them $400k pa in interest, get rid of the debt, secure your long term future and release that $400k pa to spend on footy.
