They were Target supermarkets and department stores to start off with and for whatever reason, the department store retained the target brand and the supermarkets became arrows. They had red apple restaurants and, at Edwardstown, there was an in house hot dog type take away as well as a biscuit bakery (name forgotten), the biscuits were freshly baked and put in a foil bag.

You mean Good Morning Australia on channel 10 with Gordon Elliott and Kerri-Anne Kennerley. ;)

The Mike Walsh show was better (well at least when Normie Rowe and Ron Casey were on together)

That was Midday Show with Ray Martin, I reckon.

You know you're nearing 40 or over it when...you're going to see Grinspoon 20 years after they started.

Correct, mid-1991 IIRC.

... and you know you're 34-40 when you can remember how good Guide to Better Living was when it came out.

5 years ago, Mrs. C and I went to the train station where the video for Just Ace was filmed.

Man, I miss the good ol' days, when Triple J played good shit.

Instead of just shit?

I tuned in for a fair portion of the Hottest 100 on Saturday, what a ******* load of shit that was. Absolute shit. I guess if you ride a fixed wheel bike to your local organic coffee place while stroking balm through your beard you'd like it, well, pretend to anyway.

Then on Sunday Double J replayed the '97 Hottest 100....thankfully that reinstated some faith.

Through some of the early 90's I had braces on my teeth, I used to catch the bus into the dental hospital on Frome Road about every 6-8 weeks for check ups/adjustments etc. The amount of time I spent bludging in either Dazzleland or Rowe and Jarman....

On that topic, what the **** happened to rock & alternative music that had balls to it?

What passes as rock/alternative/indie music these days is very safe, vanilla and limp-wristed.

Shit, even the Foo Fighters became a watered down, dad-rock version of themselves. I remember seeing them in 1998 (IIRC), and they had balls.

As much as I've heard they still put on a good show, I wouldn't dream of seeing them unless they only played songs from the first two albums.

Obviously, I am just using Grohl and Co. as an example, but they're not the only rock band to have gone down this path. Pearl Jam is another example.
