Just asking the question but I still expect abuse, I'm sexist, I'm a dinosaur blah blah blah but it's a genuine question.

Can someone please explain to what the AFL expect to get out of putting 2 AFLW players in the longest kick comp across the yarra?

If they had 6 blokes and 6 woman in 2 separate comps then yep I get it but have 2 AFLW players against these blokes seems absolutely stupid to me.

So they can point to it being a good news story. If one of chicks kicks it 50 then that’s something to write about. Nobody would expect them to win

I would never go in to a competition knowing I couldn't win.

Surely a separate comp for AFLW players if a player kicks 50 it's the same story?

Like I said to me it's just crazy. Just my opinion.

Call me a Dinosaur or what ever. I saw 5 mins of last nights game and that was enough for me. The skill level was abysmal some could not kick and missed from the goal square!!! and some had more tatts than Dustin Martin!!!

The only way they get crowds is that it is free if people had to pay nobody would turn up.

If this is the level of skill at that level I would hate to think what is happening in local grades!!!!

I just watched the Melbourne v GWS game and thought the same.

GWS have a forward who took a mark and I quote the commentary team
‘This should be interesting as she doesn’t know how to kick a drop punt’
WTF!

They crack in but that’s about it.

My daughter played local level last season Div3 or 4. Skill level is poor. Her team played a scratch match against their boys under 14's and got beat. Having said that, at a club level, it's about fun and fitness. Hoping my daughter plays again over here this winter in Melbourne. Latrobe Uni have a few girls teams so that would be a good fit.
