2018 Broadcast Coverage

Postby Big Phil » Sat Feb 03, 2018 2:15 pm

Broadcasting veteran Peter Walsh will be heavily involved with both the SANFLW and SANFL League Broadcast in season 2018, including the Digital Pass coverage.

Fans should look forward to some great initiatives and the quality of the broadcast coverage going to another level.

Suspect there will be a lot of new voices heard throughout the various coverage platforms.

Not sure if there will be any radio coverage, but the Digital Pass will still be happening.

No info on the Digital Pass for 2018 yet? Website still shows info about 2017 Finals Series.

Out and about yesterday and listed to the cricket on the radio.
With the game on free TV so why do they bother with radio?
Because followers are interested in staying connected to the game with convenient access available everywhere.
Maybe the declining SANFL will see some radio policy changes this year.
Surely the league needs all the media coverage it can muster!

I know Peter Walsh is officially involved with the SANFL Digital Pass and I am lead to believe they'll be promoting it in the coming weeks.

It sounds like this season may the death of my interest in SANFL which has been with me since 1956...
I'll probably check the Norwood scores only after the match if there is no live radio I can listen to while driving, or free live progress scores on the Internet.

I'm usually too busy with other aspects of life to fit in more than the occasional match attendance, but I'm not going to be forced to subscribe to a digital pass to keep in touch and maintain my residual interest. So, my interest will slowly wane due to the lack of stimulus and I'll probably end up not even attending the occasional match.

I imagine my interest in the AFL will shrink too as SANFL has always been my primary connection with Aussie Rules.
(My primary sporting interests over the years were Judo, Archery, Hockey, Fencing at Uni, and Equestrian activities for a while much later.)

Will the SANFL be promoting the league in any way at all, even slightly, or sarcastically this season, to those who are on the inside?

No mention of the digital pass in club membership packages this year, is it going to be free this year?

Probably wishful thinking that they might try to promote the league for free.
