Had the pleasure to play Koey yesterday morning, course in absolute top notch nick leading into the Aus open in 2 weeks time.

Pretty warm but no wind was nice, Ive played 3 times in the last 12 months so pretty rusty, hit a nice drive down the middle on the first so that settled the nerves.

Anyway hit a 96 off the stick which I was pretty happy with, didn't lose a ball (they have cleared quite a few trees/rough since I was last there) and had a 9 hole streak between the 10th-17th (inc the temp hole) where I went 5 over including 5 pars.

Very enjoyable.

96 at Koey when rusty is a mid-80 anywhere else.

Mother Nature is just a cruel cruel mistress....

Calm conditions when I left home.
Get past Meadows and its hurricane winds, trees losing limbs. Apocolyptic ....

Anyway.....we survived that ordeal....

Really left too many shots out there today. Left too many putts short.
Driving was ok but short game around the greens was spot on...it normally is a weakness.

Course condition - still in good nick. Lots of debris over greens with the high winds...next time ill take my blower....
On the 10th...took a driver. Gripped down on it and it went dead straight into the Jehovas fence....lol

Played much better than the score reflected. It was a 4bbb and as a group of 3 I was captain in both teams..lol. both finished on 39 which is always low on these days. Believe the top score was 50. We would have dominated a scramble....
Biggest blunder was 18.
Thought id take 6i and lay up. Beautiful connection. Sweet. Landed well short in the rubbish. WTF????...it was my 9i....dickhead

Back out tomorrow morning.....gonna be hard adjusting from different green speeds...

First round back since December the 2nd due to the Fostering transition and an absolutely rooted back... (not shaggers back unfortunately)

Conditions were fast around Sandy Creek, with the fairways in terrible condition due to lack of water, though preferred lies thru the green were greatly appreciated...

Started off slow, with Bogey, Double, Bogey, but then went on a par run and had 22 points on the front nine. Back nine started well but then Par 5 11th I went driver, lay up 5 iron to the front of the green. About 20yards to the pin and took 4 to get down...
Picked up another couple of shots over the next two holes and then gave them back by going out of bounds on the 14th. Then got them straight back with a 4 for 4 on Cardiac Hill.

Last hole dunked one in the water next to the green but still ended up with 42points for the day...

It was as humid as anything and the last 8 holes it was blowing a gale...

The bad back actually did me well as I was only swing 3/4swings and while the distance was down about 10% the accuracy was way better. 3/4swings are the way to go now.

I was stoked with 42points but a couple of dodgy 3putts and bad chipping cost me even more...

38 points today.

Played ok very muggy this morning. Funny round really as everything was just ok, I certainly wouldn’t say I drove, chipped or putted well but on the flip I certainly wouldn’t say I drove, chilled or putted badly.

In to 13 now

Pennants at Nth Haven tomorrow haven’t played there for a long time.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Started on the 10th. Back 9 was sound. 17pts. Missed a shocking par putt on 18....

Came home on the back 9 very nicely for 21pts.
Had 5 - 4's in a row....1 birdie on 10th where I nailed a nice 6m putt....(pleasant surprise after what had just happened on 18), 1 bogey and 3 pars in that stretch. Missed a couple silly short putts.

Quite happy with how the day went.

Holden Scramble today at West Lakes, 31 groups in total. Played 2 groups to a hole and marked each others card, didnt feel like a slow day on the course but still took 5.5 hours to get around! We lipped out on about 4 birdie putts but still managed to go 9 under off the stick for a 54 net. Good enough for 1st by .5 a stroke and a trip to the regional finals
